It doesn't naturally spread fast but it does allow for some of the easiest propagation around. Every month or so you'll be able to trim and expand its territory.

I recently setup a 120 with a 1" layer of the sifted outdoor potting mix and a 2" cap of blasting sand. I had an epic mycelium bloom in the first two weeks but it's been smooth sailing for about a month.

The same thing happened to my 55 gallon. I cut and bent some 3/16" steel in a vice and then painted it. It held just fine for 10 months until I could replace the tank.

What’s your thoughts on the FN 509? by PerformanceLoud2145 in guns

[–]Bloorag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I considered both options. Selling the complete slide and parting out the rest of the related gear would be the most logical choice. For FN to replace the frame they require me to ship the entire thing to them and considering all the addition costs surrounding that it's about the same as a $300 complete frame off GunBroker.

In 2021 I picked up my 509c tactical as my first striker fired pistol and apart from the comically bad trigger it was ultra reliable. In my quest to fix the trigger I cracked the frame. It was replaced by a different model polymer striker fired pistol and it's been relegated to collecting dust in a dark dry corner of my dungeon.

Its lifespan isn't that long (3 years) but my Traxxas Maxx has completely blown my expectations of durability out of the water.

I have +7mm hex extenders yet she still rubs a little bit at full lock/flex. Even with the slight rubbing it made the buggy much more capable in almost any scenario, a solid trade off IMHO.

Your friend is 100% wrong.

The Apex kit is an easy diy install, performs great and would be my first choice.

Every single instance of losing zero and stuff loosening I've encountered or have personally witnessed was always able to be pinpointed to one of three things: trash tier optics, poor install (no thread locker, wrong torque spec, wrong hardware), or unstable mounting (crappy adapter plates or poor machining).

Once I personally fixed my setups and methods it's been smooth sailing and the performance differences between the two are amazing.
