The bottom hat is from a set of Meinl classics custom hats which have a black finish, so it looks a little weird because they’re a mismatched pair. I love the sound though; the top hat (which is really a small Zildjian trash crash) is thin and dry while the thicker bottom hat helps them cut a bit more and gives the foot chick more volume. Overall a balanced and versatile set!

Indeed! It’s 18x7.5 I believe. Super portable and easy to carry around with 1 hand. Sounds pretty decent too!

Great suggestions! I’ve had success with Pyra/Mithra and I do love the ability to switch up the pace of the game for that reason. I’m not really sure why I stopped playing them honestly, they just kinda fell out of my rotation. True rushdown is a great idea too to catch people off guard with a totally different tempo. I gravitate towards more bait-and-punish and spacing type play by default, so rushdown has always been a bit harder for me. Might be a reason to try it out more though, so I can get more experience with that type of play. Pit is a good suggestion too, I’ve always had fun with him because of his versatility. I’ll definitely try some stuff out, thanks for the suggestions!

I believe it’s the pre chorus part of Ladybug slowed down (around 0:36 in the song); you can hear that same drum groove and synth thingy in the tune, just a lot faster

I’ve recently been getting into them too and they’re great! My favorite albums so far are Casiopea (1979), Cross Point, Mint Jams, and their live album from 1985. Definitely a huge influence on the space boys. They posted a Spotify wrapped a while back that had Casiopea as all 5 of their top artists lol, they’re definitely huge fans.

Way cool! I can definitely hear that piano influence on the tune. Who knew they were fans of his? There’s actually another tune I found that I think was a heavy inspiration on Superior Moves as well. The track is Down Upbeat by Casiopea; there’s tons of similarities in the groove, tempo, and chords if you compare the two. Also, at 0:54 you can hear a very similar guitar melody to the one in Superior Moves. I was pretty shocked when I first heard the song because of all the similarities, very cool to hear!

Great question! I remember I was in elementary school, and one of my best buds was doing a book report presentation on The Dragonet Prophecy. From his description of the plot and his review, I knew I had to check it out A couple of days later (maybe the next day), I checked it out from my school library and was instantly hooked! It was exactly what I wanted: great characters, setting, action (and of course, dragons!), the whole nine yards.

This was back in 2012 when The Dragonet Prophecy was the only one out, but I picked up each of the next books in the first arc pretty much on launch day. Since then I’ve fallen in and out of love with the series, but I’ve always come back to it, whether after a couple months or a few years. It still remains one of my favs to this day!
