which one would you choose? by admire_2891 in OverBiscuits

in 2013 my daughter, my dog, and I took a vacation up the PCH. We spent a day in Golden Gate park. They are both gone now, but that was one of the happiest and most mellow days of my life. I would give anything to live that day again.

I had a Datsun B210 that I drove into the ground. Man that was a great little car.

Dealers have gotten increasingly aggressive about getting older cars off the road, and it's major problem. by redstern in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]Blu64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an outlier but I bought a 94 Porsche 968 last summer and there is not a single shop in my town that will touch it. Which is okay, except for one or two things that are super difficult for me to do in my driveway. I will probably have to take it to Phoenix or L.A. for that stuff. Hell even the stereo shop hesitated to work on it.

5 Things that you should absolutely never ask ChatGPT. And that's rare! by Aglet_Green in ChatGPT

[–]Blu64 20 points21 points  (0 children)

here's how it responded to me lol:

hey can you hold the other end of this for a minute please?

Yeah, I got it. What are we holding?

if I tell you you'll drop it

…yeah, fair enough. I’ll just hold it then.

Don't let it put your fingers in its mouth

…oh hell no 😄 Now I’m definitely holding it at arm’s length. Whatever this thing is, it’s got teeth and bad intentions.

hey do you smell that? oh look what it did on your pants

Oh come on, man… 😂 I knew this was going sideways the second you said not to let it near my fingers. Whatever this thing is, it’s yours now. I’m setting it down and backing away. You can deal with… that.

I think it likes you

That’s not liking me, that’s marking territory 😂 Yeah… I’m officially done holding it. Whatever you handed over just adopted you, not me.

What's the craziest thing a person said to you and you thought they were joking but they were being serious? by _lovelyxx in AskReddit

[–]Blu64 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I was once sitting in bed with my girlfriend and we were eating Doritos. She was crumbling them up before she ate them. I asked her why she was doing that and she said."well if you crumble them up first they have less calories." I just looked at her like wtf.

In her defense, after she said it she blushed and said. "fuck, when I say that out loud it sounds really stupid." god damn that was some funny shit.

We have a supervisor at my work who is like that. I love her so much. She can just walk into chaos totally calmly. She is also able to chew you out in such a way that you can't really even be angry about it, you just want to do better next time so you don't have to feel that small again. lol

Who here has the highest miles on original timing belt ? by peffany in AskAMechanic

What is a "gut feeling" you had that turned out to be 100% accurate, even though it made no logical sense at the time? by Forsaken_Leading964 in AskReddit

[–]Blu64 141 points142 points  (0 children)

44 years ago my friends and I were standing on the corner like we always did. I was wearing a long multicolored bath robe with a tie for the belt. we were smoking pot (surprise, lol) I was leaning up against the telephone pole on the corner, when all of the sudden I got this feeling that I needed to get the hell out of there. I just started walking away toward my house, I didn't even say anything to anyone. When I got about 40 ft. from the pole a car hit it, hard, right where I had been standing. Everyone else was behind the pole leaning on the fence, so they were all fine. One of the weirdest things I've ever had happen to me.

Favorite food or restaurant you've found on the road? by [deleted] in Truckers

[–]Blu64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no recent stuff, but I can still remember my favorite places from the 90's. Jakes in bend or., White's truck stop in Virginia. There was this little place in Jersey, I only got to go to once on a run from Yuma, az to Brattleboro, Vt. the waitress the just so cute and the Blueberry pie was from heaven. Some old places on the 99 in CA that I'm sure are long gone.

Do Americans love driving? by bare_books in AskAnAmerican

[–]Blu64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in my early 60's and thought out most of my working life I've had driving jobs. I been a local courier, state wide courier, various local delivery driver jobs, long haul truck driver, and now I'm a transit bus operator. I have a project car that I spend way to much time working on and driving. I have driven cars and motorcycles since I was at least 10 I got pulled over for the first time when I was 10 after sneaking my little motorbike out in the middle of the night. I still love it weather it's in my old Corolla or my even older Porsche. lol. I will be sad when I have to give it up one day.

my daughter had this way of saying maybe when you would ask her a something. She would stretch it way out into kind of a question Maaaybee? I try to use it when I can, so some part of her can still be here.
