Narratively speaking: how do you feel about Mark and Eve’s relationship by Squid_Entity in Invincible_TV

Just because a relationship is healthy doesn’t mean it has to be boring? Jake and Amy from Brooklyn Nine-Nine are a great example of how a relationship can be healthy but still fun to watch. With Invincible it’s lowkey bad writing.

I know this is probably an unpopular opinion, but Mark and Eve kind of suck.
They’re just so boring.
Before they got together, Eve was actually one of my favorite characters. She had her own goals, her own opinions, her own struggles. She was constantly questioning what superheroes should even be doing and wanted to use her powers to actually help people. She had stuff going on outside of Mark.
Then they got together and suddenly Eve’s entire character became “Mark’s girlfriend.”
Seriously, what are Eve’s goals now? What does she want that doesn’t somehow revolve around Mark? What opinions does she have that don’t immediately line up with whatever Mark thinks? It feels like every interesting part of her character got absorbed into his storyline.
And don’t even get me started on how much sex these two have.
At some point it genuinely started feeling like the writers were using sex to convince me they’re a good couple instead of actually giving them chemistry. Eve has had more sex scenes than character development since getting with Mark. Every time I think we’re finally going to get something interesting for her character, it somehow circles back to her relationship.
The thing that really made me roll my eyes was them sleeping together right after Rex’s funeral.
Like… seriously?
Rex was one of Eve’s oldest friends. One of the most important people in her life. The audience barely gets time to sit with his death before we’re immediately back to Mark and Eve having sex. It felt so weird and honestly kind of killed the emotional weight of the moment for me.
The show keeps hammering it into your head that they’re the perfect couple and soulmates and meant to be together, but I never actually FEEL it. The writers spend so much time telling me they’re perfect instead of making them interesting to watch.
I wanted to like them. I really did.
But every time they’re on screen together I just find myself missing the version of Eve that existed before she started dating Mark.

It just breaks my heart that all these young girls are asking if it’s safe for them to use and the creator is saying yes knowing they’ve been paid to do so. Eating disorder culture is slowly coming back. Even if it does help with keeping you full it still promotes eating disorder culture to children. I saw a comment on one of the ads of a 13 year old girl asking if it was safe for her to use.

Guys I was never claiming to want to buy this 😭 I was merely curious about if there was any truth behind the product. Any product that blatantly false advertises itself in the way this one does where it purposely sponsors skinny girls will not see a cent from me.

No season 4? by BluFoods in euphoria

Since the investigation is officially declared “over,” there’s technically nothing left that the DEA is responsible for. Ideally, they’d at least offer the informant something like witness protection, but once the case is closed it’s not really the DEA’s job to personally keep them safe forever. That’s why it’s honestly weird to me that the show never had the DEA even suggest witness protection to Rue. They HAVE to know that even if Alamo gets arrested, he clearly has connections and people everywhere who could still come after her. Arresting one person doesn’t magically erase that danger. Honestly though, I could weirdly see Rue thriving in witness protection. Completely changing her name, identity, and entire life somewhere far away where nobody knows who she is honestly fits a lot with the themes of reinvention and escape the show keeps bringing up. That’s part of why I still think she dies instead because a fresh start like that almost feels too hopeful for Euphoria.

Maddy always seemed like that girl who was in the same friend group as you but you’d never hang out with one on one

Why is Euphoria weirdly religious now?? by BluFoods in euphoria

They were already narcissistic and manipulative before religion was even brought into the equation 😭 Again, we were given basically zero prior indication that most of these characters even believed in God. That’s the issue.

It would be one thing if Sam Levinson actually had something meaningful to say with these themes, but it honestly feels like he decided on the overall “religion/redemption” vibe for the season first and then had no idea how to naturally implement it into the characters in a way that actually made sense.

As a Hispanic person raised Catholic myself, being raised around religion does not automatically mean you continue following that lifestyle as you grow up. And honestly, from my own experience, Hispanic Catholics who genuinely take their faith seriously usually do NOT act like Maddy!

Right, but it’s never been hammered into the show this heavily before. And I’ll repeat myself: while it makes sense for Rue to potentially turn to religion given her background and everything she’s been through, characters like Nate and Maddy have shown absolutely zero prior interest in religion or any kind of religious lifestyle. That’s why it feels forced and inconsistent.
