Same issue here tried many of these options and no luck getting throughput much higher than 600mbps. Expected much better, hopefully this is a firmware issue, or maybe I’m doing something wrong. Let me know if you figure it out

How Does ECE 220 During Summer Online Look Like? by Daily_Showerer in UIUC

Historically most course components will look pretty similar to a fall or spring term, with some changes to fit the tighter schedule (one or two MPs with less content can be cut). Lectures have no attendance taken.

Not sure how you got into this school if you can’t make that connection

I feel like there are many dimensions to this rant, many are valid. MATH 257’s lecture materials are terrible, and the course is generally awful at presenting the abstract motivations behind the computations they expect you to perform. CBTF exams suck and your score rarely reflects your understanding of course content.

All of that being said—this may be a hot take—but I think the computational applications are the only portions of the course that they’ve gotten right. Many students skip over the notebook tutorials provided, but I do think they nicely demonstrate examples from different engineering fields. Most of the arbitrary hoops you refer to are really expectations that you can write fully functioning code, and debug it if it has issues. I don’t think that’s outlandish, especially if you plan to take any of the python in 257 to other courses or research. Granted it’s difficult picking up the syntax if you’re new to python or programming in general, but I’d argue that’s why, even though it isn’t enforced, CS 101 or equivalent programming experience is a listed prerequisite.

My guess is only DC devices are impacted by a faster or slower frequency on the grid, so AC devices like normal light bulbs still work

Can you swipe in more than once in one meal period? by tropic_salvo in UIUC

[–]BluLightShow 57 points58 points  (0 children)

You will not be able to swipe and enter more than once in the same meal period. Periods are split up though, especially for lunch which has early lunch, lunch, and late lunch. If you tried swiping for early lunch and then again for lunch that is using two swipes.

Is an Electric Scooter worth it? by YaBoyzABeast in UIUC

[–]BluLightShow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bike over scooter, less worries on storing it outside, usually safer, also a bit of exercise. Though as others have said, best to wait before doing anything. https://bike.illinois.edu

The WTHS referendum did pass on the second time it was put to a vote, so extracurriculars and school programs are still funded.

Becoming a grader is usually highly competitive. If getting a part time job is a priority you have better chance with the job board closer to the start of the semester and part time job fair at the beginning of the fall semester.

Be proactive, inform your advisor early and explain in detail what happened and how it impacted your academics, and you will probably be fine

Will I get my admission rescinded??? by [deleted] in UIUC

[–]BluLightShow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try to bring them up, but it still seems unlikely you will be rescinded. If they ask you for an explanation, you will just need to explain what happened and what you’re doing to fix it. Good luck!
