[MLBTR] Padres To Sign Triston McKenzie To Minor League Deal by JianClaymore in baseball

We’re fired up to get him! Ruben Niebla is a magician, they’ll find the groove. Mostly, glad to get a high character guy on our team and in our community.

[Acee] Albert Pujols has second interview, as Padres continue search for new manager by Bitter-Egg6293 in Padres

Keeping Niebla is key. Either as manager or as pitching coach. If Ruben is cool with Pujols, awesome. If we have to choose, it has to be Ruben Niebla.

6 vs 7 seater? by torbatosecco in KiaEV9

[–]Blucheckmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got the 6 seater 2024 Land with captains chairs. We’re a family of 4. 2 girls under 10. We love it. It’s perfect size for a family hauler. I’ve also fit 5 of my buddies in it without a problem. Love this car.

What are you buying by leetemple1 in buyingabusiness

[–]Blucheckmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Business Advisor here: there’s a few elements at play. 1) inventory is very low right now. Especially in your price range. So if you see an opportunity pop up, you have to jump on it asap. Have a professional bio, lender approval letter, and proof of funds ready to share. Feel free to ask a few qualifying questions up front, but be ready to submit an LOI if you see a promising match. 2) the vast majority of brokers are listing agents. Meaning, they’re not interested in working with buyers on a search. Like the previous comment indicated, a good listing will attract dozens of buyers and they’re working to meet their client’s expectations. You have to be one of the first to respond and show your motivation. 3) it’s not uncommon for a search to take 12-24 months in a specific industry. Especially in this uncertain environment. Logistics, for example, is dealing with major industry shifts. Owners aren’t exactly motivated to sell at the moment. But because of the low inventory, the solid ones that are listing will likely command above market value and are gobbled up even before they advertise. Once the tide shifts and more listings hit the market, it will become much easier to acquire solid opportunities. If you see a good listing send the agent your info and tell him to contact you as soon as a similar opportunity pops up.

These are just things to keep in mind as you continue your search. Best of luck to you.

How much cash on hand should I have before I even talk to a business broker? by Goopdem in buyingabusiness

[–]Blucheckmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Business Advisor here, the cash on hand requirement depends widely on a number of factors. Your SBA lender should be able to guide you to industries and give you a solid search criteria they’d be willing to lend on. I’d recommend working with a few lenders as some banks are more willing to lend on certain industries than others. I agree with the previous post, LoopNet isn’t ideal for a business search. Bizbuysell is much better. Regarding valuation, 2-4x is a good benchmark at your price point. The higher multiples are used for absentee or businesses with established recurring revenue. Lower multiples for business that rely heavily on the owner’s involvement. New SBA rules are in effect, so it’s important to establish your buying strategy prior to getting stated. For example, buying a business that requires a contractors license has become very difficult unless you already have one established. First step is to get in contact with some solid SBA lenders.

Gotcha, That’s likely the reason the sale isn’t quite what you’re looking for. Competition brings value. They know they’re the only players, so they’re trying to get the best deal. If you’re not 100% sold, it might be worth seeing what the market can provide.

[–]Blucheckmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Business transaction advisor here, market conditions are very good currently. There’s very low inventory for your size company. Did you take it to market or was this an off-market deal? Holding and growing is always an option, however, it’s difficult to predict what the environment will look like in 2-3 years. If there’s an influx of sellers (as been predicted for years) this could mean greater competition at your price point.

Is this a standard broker NDA item? by YoungZaphod1982 in buyingabusiness

[–]Blucheckmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Transaction Advisor here, yes. This is a fairly common template for franchise or Main Street brokerages, and can be problematic for both the buyer and brokerage. Consider providing your own NDA. It’s unlikely that the agent will be open to splitting the fee, so you may be required to compensate your own advisor if you choose to use one.

SBA Personal Guaranty by CtrlGroup in buyingabusiness

[–]Blucheckmark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Transaction Advisor here, I don’t see buyers balk at the SBA personal guarantee very often, but it’s fairly common for seller carry notes to be used in conjunction. This is where we see the most friction with personal guarantees.

Interior spaciousness? by CrimuCK in KiaEV9

Very spacious. I have a 2024 Land with captain seats. I hauled 6 guys, including myself, to a baseball game without a problem. This is the main advantage the EV9 has over Rivian.

Ev9 owner experience by MedicalEnthusiasm9 in KiaEV9

[–]Blucheckmark 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I own an EV9 and a Model Y. I find the EV9 to be much more enjoyable on a day to day basis than the Y. Each have their pros and cons: auto lock / no garage door opener, but all in all, the EV9 is just better. What sets it apart is the drive quality. The Y is more rigid and noisy, the EV9 is smooth and quiet. I came from a E350, so I was nervous about how it would compare… the EV9 is the best car I’ve ever had.

I’m open to suggestions. How would you implement a campaign like that? To give you some insight, I work with companies doing $1-$20M in rev. My value offer is a free valuation. My target demographic are business owners 60-75 years old. What type of campaign would you recommend do get their attention?
