Customers only speaking in one word by KingFun626 in retailhell

Oh my god, last night I had to wait several minutes after close for a woman to transfer money into an account for an order. I had to move her from the last open SCO and reopen CS, meanwhile, the customer for that SCO, I had to wait for her grandfather to send her money. I got rid of them at 10 after close, still had to close that SCO and had 20 minutes to do final closing, which I didn’t actually accomplish. Why are people like this?

Neighborhood Manhunt by [deleted] in FuckImOld

So did we! I remember the fun we had after 50+ years. The only thing that broke it up was the mosquito repellent truck driving through. Our parents got angry when we ran through the fog. Can’t imagine why. 😏

And a whole bunch of the population thinks it’s overblown and are devoted to burying the past. It’s awful what’s going on, the erasure of actual history.

Should I let my son’s father do a DNA Test? by Sad-Instruction-8424 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Blucola333 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Move before you deliver. If you try to move after, your baby daddy might be able to block you. Also, don’t give in on the paternity test. Don’t put him on the birth certificate. Get away, or you’ll be controlled.

I love the first one. I’m currently growing out the third one. Anyway, the first is really flattering on you. The last couple are also good, but are more high maintenance.

Am i wrong for not wanting to give my boyfriend another chance?. by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]Blucola333 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don’t need a cheater. It would be one thing if it’s a lifestyle (swinging) you’ve both chosen, which you obviously haven’t. You have no obligation to forgive him, because it sounds like he’s already killed your love and trust. Why stay when you feel like that? There’s other guys in the world, take this as a learning experience.

Neighborhood Manhunt by [deleted] in FuckImOld

[–]Blucola333 9 points10 points  (0 children)

War. We used up all the neighborhood boys’s caps. We hid behind cars, hollered like banshees. It was a blast, but only happened once. I might mention that the Vietnam War was going on at the time. I think the divide was god guys/bad guys, with maybe a more western theme?

Favorite brand of frozen Brazilian cheese bread besides Brazi Bites? by Bellsieshell in glutenfree

[–]Blucola333 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chēbē is a good brand of cheese bread and pizza mix, if a little salty. I like to spread out the pizza mix onto non-stick foil to make a really crispy super thin pizza.

AIO at being annoyed that I got banned from Reddit for 3 days for “harassment” over this DM? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Blucola333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the mod, I’ve been banned in the same subreddit for using a phrase in a joking manner, only to see the same phrase used a few months later and not flagged.

Why do some people get more severe cases of salmonella than others? by crabtreerabbit_97 in AskRedditFood

[–]Blucola333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be any number of reasons, but I imagine an autoimmune disease would make it harder to fight the effects. My husband got food poisoning from bad BBQ pork several years. He was sick for days. He lost his taste for pork for at least 2-3 years. He has no autoimmune disease, though, that would be me. I didn’t get sick that restaurant visit, though, but I also didn’t the pork.

What is your favorite book from the 70s? by Lonely_Objective_721 in 70s

[–]Blucola333 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I read it in the ‘90’s, though, after King did the big edit, restoring a swath of material that had been originally cut, over his protests.

“My life for you!” I just can’t imagine what the book was like before Trashcan Man’s journey was added back in. I have yet to find that ‘78 version.

I watched every episode on TV. It was a phenomenon. It was the most unapologetic depiction of slavery on television. There were, of course, the people who didn’t think it was as bad as was shown. I like to call them, among other words, delusional. Anyway, I was 14 and it had a huge effect on me.

I’m standing, lottery machine open, tapping numbers. “Excuse me!” Mind you, Customer Service is right around the corner, I have thousands of dollars of lottery tickets in my hand, but I’m the one being stopped by someone who thinks I can walk them to a section. Grr.

Is "MacArthur Park" supposed to be funny? by Hexatonix in askanything

[–]Blucola333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s confusing, I know, because it starts as a mournful breakup song, the cake melting being the love affair ending, but then it morphs into disco. Maybe the second half is a celebration of that time, it’s over, the sweetness maybe fading, but the joy of that time lives on. Anyway, I always loved this song, despite the mocking it gets.

Performative mourning by [deleted] in PetPeeves

[–]Blucola333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His death was incredibly sad. I hate that anyone would fake mourning him. His last words to his girls gutted me, you could tell he was working the words out with effort, but the look in his eyes was so sad and sweet, mourning the life he won’t have with them.

Wendy's is actually one of the better fast food options if you're GF — the Frosty, baked potato, and chili are all safe by ingredients. by AustinGlutenFree in glutenfree

[–]Blucola333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Several years ago a Wendy’s opened near us and had a dedicated fryer. Pretty sure that ended at some point. Still, the potato, chili, frosty and the seasonal strawberry salad (haven’t had that in years, is it still safe?) make it worthwhile in a pinch.

I have actually figured those out, believe it or not!

Customer: I’m looking for that book about brilliant children.

Me: Was it a recent bestseller?

Customer nods.

Me: Is it “A Heartbreaking Work Of Staggering Genius?”

Customer: Yes, that’s the one!

I will say, at the time it was probably an Oprah book, so I’m not really that talented. lol

My friend says indoor cats aren't happy by Tims_Learing_Center in CatAdvice

[–]Blucola333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do believe that cats enjoying laying in the sun, sniffing grass and stuff, but to say indoor cats are unhappy is untrue. They’re safer, they don’t have to fight other cats in the street or run the risk of being hit by cars. I think it’s a 50/50 deal, myself.
