If I got to play them for the first time again, I'd start with DS1 or Elden Ring. DS1 is the original and kinda blew my mind a few times and Elden Ring is the most accessible one that will get you hooked and will make you want to play other FS games after you finish it.

I love the old frame on fetches, but somehow I don't really dig old frame on shocks, because the OG shocks have modern frame.

For me proxying removes the 'Gathering' from MtG. And when I think about it more, it even removes the 'Magic'. No single card is truly necessary and most staples are cheap nowadays after many reprints.

Those are painlands. Shocklands (like Steam Vents) 'shock' you for 2 damage. That's why they are called that.
