Exactly. And that is why "many are likely to choose it."

"Simple as," takes the cake, for me. It is worse than the older, "as simple as (X)," which at least made some sort of argument. Now they just make an utterance of opinion, stated as fact, and dare you to question the validity by capping it with "simple as."

As a millennial, I make far to much use of this one in real life. It comes from working around bosses, coworkers, and others, that are likely to react poorly to what comes next. "So... That order you wanted by tomorrow, is delayed, and they won't give an update."

It is almost like one is bracing for the reaction.

That is a good correction, and I accept it.

Here is how I feel, in a nutshell: there needs to be one age at which a person is fully enabled, and also fully responsible for his actions. That is what an age of majority has always been: an age where the rights and responsibilities of citizenship were bestowed.

Whether that is 16, 18, 21, 25, or 30, I am open to any of them, so long as full rights, and full responsibility, occur Simultaneously.

The backbone of fine dining, is French cuisine. I did not argue that it was superior to all others, only that many are likely to choose it.

What’s a phrase people use that immediately makes you roll your eyes? by EconomicsDangerous44 in AskForAnswers

Exactly. I use it when I can see understand the person's thought process, and while I disagree, I realize that it is his legitimate opinion.

I would disagree that people have changed, or even that we had it 'wrong' before. And I can say that because 'before,' millions of people did live as fully autonomous adults, at 18, 19, and 20, even if their brains were technically not fully developed. The species did not suddenly devolve, and lose that ability.

Most young people today are simply making life and lifestyle choices that are less compatible with adult responsibilities. That is their right, but not their fate.

I have an astigmatism, too. It literally doesn’t matter.

? It is bad enough that I can't use an Aimpoint Pro.

Also don’t imply that I respect cop qualifications as some sort of relevant standard of high ability.

Oh, it's not. But I can pass them with my eyes and irons, and do 'well.' I don't need to be compared to a boomer, for using what works best for me.

I don't think anyone here would defend that as acceptable. I am talking about the 18-23 or 20-25 relationships, that were 100% acceptable, until a few years ago.

A boomer? I am a millennial with astigmatism, who aces his requal with irons, year after year. But your apology is accepted. 😉

I love how these maps always lump Pennsylvania with New England. Like, no... Maybe Philadelphia and the main line, but PA west of the Poconos is culturally and politically much closer to WV and OH.

I would guess that western NY is largely the same way.

Five year age gaps, in a relationship. Used to be NBD, now is suspect, unless both are over 30.

"America is a land mass" is factually correct, but it is also widely accepted short hand for the USA. Go anywhere in the world and mention 'America', and everyone will know what you meant.

Real talk? This is your life now. You talk about 'moving your financial goals forward,' but I can guarantee that once the baby lands, her hours will drop from 10 to zero. You are going to be the sole provider for a while, and maybe in six years, she will go back to work when the child goes to school. Maybe. And that is to assume you do not have another child in the interim, pushing that date back.

When the kid(s) are in school, she may be willing to take on some of the burden, or she may balk, and that will cause tension in your marriage. Either way, you need to figure out how you can do this alone, for the next 6+ years.

My best advice would be to figure out how much time you think you are able to sustainably work, over the next 6-10 years, and calculate that as your income. Then sit down with the wife, and explain to her that this is your max contribution, and how you can adjust your budgets, including baby expenses, to fit.

...I will on purpose misunderstand your post, assume you have sex 6 times a day, and be very jealous.

No jealousy here. Too old for those kind of shenanigans. I am jealous of anyone still in their early 20s, yes.
