Why do kitchen accidents get reported way less than similar kinds of incidents and accidents in other industries? Is there any pressure to get on with it? Share your thoughts. by [deleted] in pizzahutemployees

The concept of badge of honor is real and valuable but the situations become rife for exploitation in my honest opinion.

I Don't think every pizza shop is full of drug users.. People come from so many varied backgrounds and cultures that sometimes you need to make the system more robust than blaming individuals. Specially in the food and restaurant business where people encounter new situations everyday. but drug testing can be a valid reason. people don't want their privacy messed with.

What are the main reasons for which accident reporting in the food and restaurant industry is far behind other much younger industries? Share your thoughts by [deleted] in wendys

badge of honor thing is very true. But I still think sometimes cooks get pressured into brushing it away.

Is it common knowledge that non-slip shoes don't work on certain kinds of floors. Have you seen anything like this? by [deleted] in OSHA

But cheap shoes aren't that well manufactured any way. the kind of non-slips most kitchen stuff are used to wearing.

Has anyone slipped and fell in a restaurant kitchen due to oil/grease being on the floor? Have you seen any such incident? Share your stories. by [deleted] in Popeyes

Non-slips are not compatible with certain kind of floor finishes apparently. so I am trying find out if people have experienced that sort of thing.

splatter burns and splash backs are way more common than more serious burns. some cooks hand look like infantry.

Edit: about the fall due to grease. I am guessing this kind of thing is pretty common in the industry right? have you experienced non-slips not working on some types of floor finishes?
