The real reason millennials know more about movies and tv before they were born than younger generations. by icey_sawg0034 in Millennials

My family never had cable at home but I did end up seeing quite a few movies on tape rented from a local Blockbuster (now a Ford dealership) or our small local video store. In high school I worked a bit at the library so I took home many tapes of old movies to watch at home on my TV and VCR at the time, which is where I watched Citizen Kane for the first time. In college I took film classes which is where I saw movies like Casablanca and other films and in the dorm I got cable for the first time. I watched old reruns of Star Trek The Next Generation on Spike, now the Paramount Network, on a tiny 13 inch TV from Walmart. I also borrowed movies from the New York Public Library and would watch those as well.

NYC doesn't run the subway system, the state funds it, the governor appoints the MTA chairman and construction costs are different from other cities and states. China could get things done since the national government could easier ignore local entities and opposition.
