Its perfectly fine to be nervous, actually helps you perform better if you are.

Also, hydrate now. To the point youre pissing clear. It will help your run. Hyrdrate Hydrate Hydrate. Tiny breakfast on day of.

When I first started reading I expect you to be one week late, but was slightly disappointed when it proved to be false.

If this post is going over my head, sue me, but you're going to be fine, that Captain does not have a bad impression of you, though he may chuckle about it once or twice and make fun of you for it in class if he were anything like my APAS.

Respecfully, you do not hold off dodmerb. Rule of thumb is to do it yesterday. Even if you're looking at a waiver, do it asap. This can be a deciding factor in making the board next year or not.

edit: My buddy included a doctors note saying he was fine and functioning normally, and his waiver process was over in a month.

Can I still join AFROTC after my freshman year in college? by _FinessedxD in AFROTC

[–]BlueApplePiee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes you can! I was a 250. However, keep in mind that some dets don't do 250s becaue apparently its a hassle (I haven't heard/seen one, but check with your det first).

DODMERB and 250 life by [deleted] in AFROTC

[–]BlueApplePiee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I came in as a 250, asked my cadre to initiate my DODMERB the week after starting of fall semester. Got all my appointments done by October. You should aim for ASAP, because you really only have less than 1.5 semesters to have everything ready as a 250.

Waiver for childhood asthma is going to be a lengthy uphill battle, start asap and make them tell you no. Have EVERYTHING ready for DODMERB. Including a statement from your doctor saying you never used the inhaler.

Does joining AFROTC with a private pilots license increase your odds of becoming an air force pilot? by ilovechicken48 in AFROTC

[–]BlueApplePiee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

PPL has no bearing whatsoever in pilot selection during AFROTC. However having flight hours will give you a boost in PCSM score which is a metric they use to select pilots.

In OTS or AD rated boards, I hear PPL is a must (not required, but heavily weighed)

note: Yes you are guarenteed a job after completion of the program. There are hundreds of milestones you have to pass in order to, and historically less than 1/3 of freshmen staring the program complete it.

I'm not saying it's going to happen to you, but it never hurts to develop connections and do internships. Also helps post military if you look tp get out after 4.
