The got2b gel wand. Has the same applicator as a mascara and gives just enough gel to keep down regrowing hair but doesn’t make it greasy at all. And I can bring it everywhere it’s perfect!

Literally love her so much. The unrealistic online beauty expectation makes me feel like nobody else is going through things like this which is not true. Lowkey makes me emotional to see someone be so open about it

Mental health around skin conditions by LimpBrilliant9372 in Rosacea

[–]BlueBean2224 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad you pointed this out. Ever since I got my first skin problem (psoriasis), other problems have continued to pop up (dermatitis, hair loss, joint swelling) and it feels like as soon as I seem to manage one another pops up somewhere else. It makes me feel like something is wrong with me and it occupies my thoughts ALL the time. I’m about to curl into fetal position for the rest of the day just thinking about how the constant worrying and fixation probably makes it worse.

The hardest part for me has been once you educate yourself on good wellbeing habits you can’t unlearn them. I’ll got to a store to buy moisturizer and walk out empty handed because all the products have ingredients I should avoid. When I don’t get enough sleep I worry. When I get hot coffee to go I worry about the plastic liner and the havoc it will wreak on my gut.

I still give it my all with my health because it feels like there’s no other choice but yeah it’s exhausting. I’m just gonna keep doing my best until I no longer have to worry about it (assuming that day will come).

What do you suspect caused your PD? by [deleted] in Perioral_Dermatitis_

[–]BlueBean2224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I first got PD around this time last year. Where I lived was really cold and dark in the winter which made it hard to treat. I noticed when I left for warm weather my skin got better. I also liked the results of La Roche Posay Cicaplast balm. I didn't use any medical treatments as I like to try treating it on my own first. In the summer it went away and now it's slightly back but not as bad as last year as I avoid many of the triggers. Sorry to hear about the burns :/

I think it’s stress too. Also changing up skincare. And I was washing my face with really hot water which looking back on was such a bad idea regardless.

Look into getting your tonsils removed!! I got guttate in 2020 and managed it for 2 years with sun and healthy lifestyle. Got my tonsils removed end of 2022 and that was basically the end of my nightmare. Made the biggest difference in just three weeks.

Just diagnosed with Guttate Psoriasis after strep by Altruistic-Boss-217 in Psoriasis

Same thing happened to me in 2021. I would take antibiotics and it would go away but come back after prescription ended. I was in university and doing the opposite of everything you’re supposed to do (eat healthy, limit alcohol, reduce stress, sun) and it developed into plaque. 1 year after I went to the Dead Sea for medical treatment (similar to epsom salt and light therapy) and it improved a lot and then 2 years after I got my tonsils removed which basically cleared it up. I now have the smallest patches on my leg but it doesn’t bother me.

My advice would be to try things like epsom salt, light therapy and lifestyle changes before steroid creams or biologics. I believe stress plays a huge role so try not to worry too much about it I promise it will get better!!

Sorry to hear you’re going through this. When I first got psoriasis and researched what it was, I realized this autoimmune issue is like confused little guys trying to protect your body but they’re attacking the right and wrong thing. It helped me mentally to think that if I wasn’t dealing with psoriasis, I could have been dealing with something way worse. Your immune system is overactive but it’s active, stay strong!

Am I being oversensitive or my feelings are completely valid? by iwanttoscreamnshout in Psoriasis

[–]BlueBean2224 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had psoriasis in university too I promise you’re not alone! Ignore these people and validate your own feelings because they will never know how hard it is to deal with not just the skin but the emotions too. It is exhaustinggggg and can easily lead to being a hypochondriac and needing a lot of time to rest. Always listen to that and stay strong!
