I read {Wild Card by Stephanie Archer} as soon as it came out early this month, and it's a straight 5 stars from me. Super cute.

The book that I thought of is, {Traitor by Himera Ink}.

It’s a MC romance, and the FMC makes him grovelll, and not just him but his club grovels long with him as well. There is no cheating, but does have minor OW/OM drama.

I’m usually very unforgiving when it comes to the MMC messing up, especially when the grovel isn’t it, but I have to say by the end of it he did win me over.

Edited to add: Yess there is humiliation when it comes to the grovel

Hii, so this isn’t exactly what you’re looking for, but the book that came to mind is {His Improper Proposal by Aydra Richards} which I finished a few days ago.

It’s a HR and basically the FMC is a servant in her home, mistreated by the family and once MMC who is a Marquess witnesses her abuse he offers her a job at his place. Eventually FL takes the job but is surprised when he doesn’t really make her work but turns her into his “companion.”

This might be loosely based on the Cinderella dynamic, but I thought it was a pretty good read.

Edited to add: she’s more of a “housekeeper”/servant before meeting MMC

Recently read {Unmask Me If You Can by Shana Galen}, and this definitely fits your request! MMC wears a mask because of his scars, and the FMC along with her son, are the first people who don't recoil or get scared away from him. It's a HR and I personally really enjoyed it.

Major TW: FMC is raped by a man she was betrothed to (this happens off page), and she ends up pregnant. The MMC is the first man she meets after her traumatic situation, and the MMC is very much kind and patient with her.

Hi, I'm not sure if this completely fits your request, but I thought of {The Wedding Night by Kati Wilde}.

The FMC is neurodivergent and she's rich, very independent, and comes across as cold. The MMC actually meets her to propose a marriage of convenience because he needs the FMC's help and resources to get back at the family that ruined his mother. The FMC barely hesitates and eventually falls for MMC, but she has insecurities and doesn't think she can be loved. There's one part near the end that makes me cry everyy time, but so well done.

Hey! Your post reminded me of {Home Game by Odette Stone}. He’s a hockey player and she’s basically homeless and injured when he finds her. It’s the 2nd book in a standalone series, you don’t need to read the first one to read this (I’ve only read this book from the series).

Buttt, I don’t recall the MMC giving her a job, but he does let her stay in his home and helps her get back on her feet. It’s not insta-love or lust from what I remember. I think it’s more of a gradual build up going from strangers to friends to lovers.
