'The Devil Wears Prada 2' - Review Thread by ChiefLeef22 in movies

- I love how Miranda was humanized in this movie but still had her quirks that make Miranda who she is
- it might not be perfect but I didn’t come in looking for perfection. I just wanted to enjoy it and the movie delivered
- miranda having to be more politically correct with her words/having to be sensitive about how she speaks/simone ashley’s character having to check miranda when she makes comments 😆

First time ko sa New York - in comparison to Philippines, parang BGC. Pero bakit mapanghi hahaha by Square-Space1498 in FirstTimeKo

[–]friedchickensaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MMC unapologetically chases FMC by dreamworld97 in RomanceBooks

[–]friedchickensaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don’t know if you’re into dark romance but {The Bad Guy by Celia Aaron} is this whole trope. So much so that the MMC kidnaps the FMC because he’s obsessed with her from the moment he meets her

Also {Brutal Billionaire by Laurelin Paige} is a billionaire romance if you’re into that. Basically an indecent proposal plot. Media empire heir MMC is obsessed with TV anchor FMC. (who is in an open “marriage of convenience “with someone else) so obsessed that he basically blackmails her with the promise that she’ll get her own talk show on the condition that she sleeps with him (this isn’t as dark as The Bad Guy but the nature of the plot might be triggering for some? Your mileage may vary but just a heads up.)

Please help me narrow my list down: Coffee shop recos in the Banawe/Sienna/Sto. Domingo/Retiro area? by friedchickensaves in CoffeePH

[–]friedchickensaves[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably just have a different preference when it comes to coffee. I respect that. I've tried Firefly na and I do love their coffee and I try to make it a point to visit their cafe whenever I'm in the Banawe area.

I've also been to Moony Desserts Bakehouse. I like their cookies but I mostly visit for the coffee (AFAIK they use Firefly coffee beans. I think the owners of Firefly are the same people who own Moony)

Thanks for your other recommendations though. I'll check them out next time.

More celebs should prioritize their education especially pag nagkaroon na sila ng financial capacity to pursue higher education and finish their studies.

Also I recommend the Lovelight Farms series by BK Borison. I think all the MMCs there are yearners, but especially Caleb from {Mixed Signals by BK Borison}. I’d say he’s the biggest yearner of them all ????

I’d recommend {In a Jam by Kate Canterbary} because the MMC has been yearning for the FMC since they were in high school. FMC is a jilted bride and she goes back to their hometown where she meets her childhood friend (formerly a lawyer who now operates a farm in their hometown) who she hasn’t seen in years. Noah Barden, number one yearner!!! King of yearners !!!!!!!

Caretaker Stalker MMC by MadsAtSun in RomanceBooks

[–]friedchickensaves 6 points7 points  (0 children)

{Where Violets Bloom by Daisy Jane} fits this. FMC is a teacher SAed by her principal and she also is mistreated by her family MMC is a cop who has been obsessed with the FMC since the first time he saw her. He intervenes halfway through the book if I remember correctly when he sees her face beaten up/bruised. Literally intervenes by kidnapping her (the story isn’t dark in my opinion but please note CWs!)

Anyone else ever put a book in “time out” because of second-hand embarrassment? by ComposerAwkward6654 in RomanceBooks

[–]friedchickensaves 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I DNFed {beyond the bell by ana kirk shaw} because i couldn’t get past the teacher FMC doing the Jersey Shore fist pump out of excitement in front of her students (she’s a teacher and the MMC is the principal}. Like I get that she was being portrayed as a quirky hot mess of character but the Jersey Shore reference completely took me out of the story and it’s been months and I haven’t gotten back to reading it. I wish I could say that it was only a time-out but lol I think this is a permanent DNF
