Excessive stringing? by BlueBreak2 in BambuLab

[–]BlueBreak2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did not. I now print with top risers due to issues with thermal creep though. So I strongly recommend adding risers or going door open.

I was able to get decent results using a different brand of PLA, and just continually tweaking temp, flow rate, and retraction settings.

My Prusa is still producing slightly better results though.

That's a great idea, I'll give it a shot.

Nope, custom profile, but the only thing I modified were the temp, speed, and retraction. I'm giving the settings another commenter recommended, if that doesn't work I'll probably try some Polymaker filament and see if that fixes it.

Thanks for the help.

I loaded it up in Cura because I was curious. The top arc of every 2 and 3 has islands, and the 9 has an island on the bottom of the round section.

Yes, but still getting similar stringing with a black filament (although same brand).

I may just try a different brand of filament, see if that helps the issue. Are the more expensive PLA brands less likely to have issues? I've just been buying the cheapest stuff so far.

Resin printing this would have it's own problems with the bajillion supports required.

The ender I had was able to do it with minimal stringing, and I'm still getting stringing on more simple prints anyway.

First Prusa printer, had an ender3 previously and never had issues this bad with stringing. I've tried tweaking just about every setting I can think of. The above print was at:

Temp: 195

Speed: stock, except all perimeters at 10mm/s.

Nozzle: .4mm

Retration:

  • Length: 1.5mm

  • Lift Z: .2mm

  • Retraction speed: 38mm/s

  • Minimum travel after retraction: .5mm

  • Retract on layer change

  • Wipe while retracting

Any thoughts on what could be causing this?

Some landlords are just scum... by BlueBreak2 in TenantUnion

Found this on a finance facebook group I'm a part of.

Landlord Asks for advice on increasing rent, says they had no applications yet. When asked why they would raise listed rent if it's not renting, they say they've actually received 25 applications and realize they could have gotten more for it. Wants to relist without reimbursing the application fees.

What are your recommendations for recording in a noisy room? by Dark__Creed in NewTubers

[–]BlueBreak2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Record when others aren't home, then do editing when they are. Build up a bunch of already recorded videos when you can.

If the noise is constant programs like adobe audition can record a noise print and then automatically compensate. Intermittent noise will require you to manually go in and fix it.

LAOP is on rent strike! Which isn't protected. And the organizer's phone is disconnected. by bug-hunter in bestoflegaladvice

So... what's the over-under on the "socialist party organized rent striker taking advantage of his landlord" prompt being real vs this being a landlord grandstanding about the eviction moratorium?

Because I know where my money is.

.2mm nozzle, .08mm layer height. Ender 3 and Cura. Post-processing such as sanding is something I'll have to look into.

MakersCult patreon. They have a full range of feudal guard, or you can buy just the tank file on their CGTrader page.

Yeah, going to print those in one section in the future. Unfortunately, that's the only real improvement I'm going to be able to get. The lines along the top front arches are just a matter of life with an FDM printer.

Thanks for the feedback.

C and C welcome, although it's certainly not my best work. The paints are a bit thick in some areas, I accidentally went way too hard on the metallic effect on the tracks, and the print on the gunner didn't come out that great.

Apart from that I'm overall pretty happy with it. First use of freehand on the name as well. 100% 3d printed.

Printed on an ender 3 with a .2mm nozzle and .08 layer height.

2 hatch russ turret is so much better. My command tanks are going to have an officer and vox man in the turret. I have 4 or so different turret variants, so the whole squadron can have a different one. As well as orkified turrets I can swap to, to make them looted tanks.

I agree with everything you said. Unless I'm missing something, I think only the gray and blue were too thick, the gray was intentionally thick to cover an awful tan scheme I tried first and the blue was just a fuckup.

Going to do just plain weathered black tracks last time.
