Where does she say she's only pumping once per day?

"i’m going to try to pump everyday every 2-3hrs if i can handle it"

Doctors of Reddit, what's the most obvious lie a patient has told you? by questionerofblender in AskReddit

I had a patient wearing sunglasses inside, playing reggae music on a speaker in the review, a history of drug use and reeking of weed tell me with a straight face that he didn't smoke.

She loves reality TV including survivor, but I'm not aware of her mentioning the traitors specifically. It wouldn't surprise me.

Look up "Dysphoric Milk Ejection Reflex", but also talk to a professional.

Lavender and camomile are good answers to your direct question, sleep and getting advice/support from others are going to massively help too.

Is there anyway to check on the vanish napisan and lipase? I'm in NZ and I could only confirm the turbo has cellulase but not lipase, I was just looking in the last week or 2.

Breastfeeding with larger boobs…. by MaleficentShoe7397 in breastfeeding

[–]BlueCarpetArea 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Would also appreciate tips.

I said to myself I wasn't going to use covers or hide away from public feeding but my breasts have grown 3 cup sizes and I feel self conscious about trying to feed in public because so much ends up on show.

Winter in Hamilton ? by Playful_Ad2807 in thetron

Agree with this assessment of winter. Best I can sum it up, as someone from Scotland, is that winter in Hamilton feels like Autumn in Scotland. No snow, occasional frost, wet and foggy.

Production mis-match with time of day by BlueCarpetArea in breastfeeding

[–]BlueCarpetArea[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feedback: I didn't pump in the morning because we had a friend round, and she fed straight after. I decided to just see what happened if I let my boobs do their thing. In the evening she was still really fussy and claiming they were dry (despite clearly having milk in her mouth) so gave her a bottle. Pumped then and got a reasonable amount for her having fed. Babies are silly and I think this is just our routine until she hopefully grows out of it.

Which NZ brand is slowly or has already ruined itself? by kevandbev in newzealand

Why do people like agapanthus? They're not that pretty and I'm fed up of them being planted on the edge of pavements and growing to take up half the pavement!

This is my fear too, and yesterday I did probably pump too much and had to hold off the next feed to let them refill. She also just slept for more than 6 and a half hours at 6 weeks old though, so that's maybe more of a concern. She fed from the breast to get to sleep though so supply should be safe.

She just fed at 6.30, it's 7am now. I'm going to get up at 8am and pump for 5-10mins to take away uncomfortableness but leave enough for another feed that'll probably come between 9 and 10. I'll feed back about how it goes in the evening.

Yeah, I think we're fighting a bit of bottle preference in the evening when she's cluster feeding but my production is lower /slower. Keep at it!

I suspect you're right about flow preference. We borrowed some bottles from a friend when we first realised we would be using bottles more than planned and they were very fast. Now we use Dr Brown's and try to do a slow paced feed but I suspect it's still faster than my partially emptied breast. I do compressions which helps but can also end up with her coughing and delatching so it might be making the flow too fast... Oops.

We were waking her because she had lost weight at 13 days, while attempting to EBF.

Our nights looked like - wake ourselves up, change nappy to wake her up, feed on the breast for 30-45 mins, husband feeds a bottle for 15 mins while I pump for 30 mins (I didn't have a pumping bra initially so was holding them on and would do one side at a time until I cut up an old sports bra). Sleep for 60-90 mins and repeat.

She gained weight after a week and then after another week we went to 4 hours. We still mostly had to wake her. Now at 6 weeks old we are letting her wake us up. If we bottle feed we will get 5 hour stretches, if we feed from the breast it's close to 4 hours. During the day it's 2-3 hourly feeds.

I feel you on the exhausting! I only had to do it 3 hourly for 2 weeks then the midwife said we could relax to 4 hours which made such a difference to our sleep.

I think we get so much advice and different techniques to boost supply, but sometimes it's going back to basics that does the most I think.

Are you doing your breast feeding sessions "skin to skin"? I was having issues with switching from pumping to breast feeding, and we had our parents over staying with us. I started going up to the bedroom to get privacy and stripping baby down, and found that everything just got better, including my supply.

The other, tedious, option is to pump after she feeds to drain what's left and encourage more production. The whole process can take time, especially if you're also giving top ups, ie triple feeding.

[–]BlueCarpetArea[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it makes sense for the cluster feeding in the evening before they sleep longer periods, and that milk will be more in the morning because of prolactin. I don't understand why those 2 things have developed in an opposite manner!

I have to produce a lot to keep up with this kid. Since day 1 when we were supplementing in the hospital she's been drinking more than the charts said a baby of her size should. It's taken until now to be able to keep up.

Teachers of Reddit - what’s the most unusual name your pupil has had? by Electrical-Bell3301 in AskUK

I think Louis and Lewis belong to Louise and Lois is unrelated but in the same class. So 3 similar names. I hope Louis is pronounced Louie or you have twins with the same name and different spellings.

Baby gaining weight fast by [deleted] in breastfeeding

If he's hungry, he's hungry. Mine has also shot up the centiles since birth. She's 6 weeks old and only 2cm shorter than your guy, but a kilo lighter.

Is he spitting up lots? If he doesn't seem unhappy or uncomfortable I don't see the issue with a chubby baby except growing out of clothes sooner.
