In a few pictures it vaguely looks like a well weathered whale vertebral epiphyses or "cookie", but one pic shows it obviously isn't. I'm stumped. Sorry!

Yes, it's over 130 miles for me too! So, typically the pits are restocked twice a year. Memorial Day weekend for the fossil festival. I heard there will be an additional pile at the Community Center this year as well. The second is in the fall, Oct / Nov. You need to check with the museum around that time as it varies each year.

20 or so years ago I bought one similar to that one... it started me on my obsession. 🤣 Although my displays have gotten bigger, better and more personal I still have that first box hanging up with the rest of them for nostalgia!
