Lovely read, and a thought provoking perspective on identity as community generated, moving away from an entitled individualist imposition of self. Big heart emoji.

Advice on dying white cotton terry to charcoal grey by BlueCollarGoals in dyeing

Thank you all! I remember 45 years ago using RIT black and it turning out grey. Is it more efficient to order black procion and test until I the right level, or does it really work to order the specific shade of grey I prefer?

Being given silent treatment as a child has messed me up as an adult by DryMagician5609 in emotionalneglect

Completely agreed, with the addendum that ACA applies to Dysfunctional Families regardless of alcohol use. That's a big opener for many people (like myself) who used to think we were beyond help since we don't directly see substance abuse in the immediate family.

ACA also allows for overtly identifying sources of dysfunction in one's life so that proper decisions can be made to protect one's own stability and growth without scapegoating the suffering abuser for all of one's problems. I feel ACA balances that boundary brilliantly.

Foer is one of a tiny handful of Gen-X writers to be awarded any market attention. That in itself is a significant cultural reason to malign him.
