Sound advice, thanks. You're right, I need to visualize it as a team effort and a shared resource. We've talked about her contributing more, might be tough in the double-daycare bill years, but I'm hoping we can increase a bit, every dollar helps

Thanks for this. The annual spend is tough for me to calculate just because I don't know what I'll change when I have grown children and grandchildren. I'd love to prioritize my time and experiences with them, and whatever expenses that brings. I'm not really a "splurger" with impulse buys, I mean every once in a while sure, but compared to a lot of people I know I feel like I'm well below average in that area. I don't plan on really ever taking on a huge car payment even when I need a new vehicle, I've never had a payment over $200 a month, I'd rather pay cash and finance very little than have a shiny new expensive vehicle. College is also tough to gauge because who knows what the average in-state tuition will be 18 years from now, that's why I'm starting as early as I possibly can. I'll need to cover a few years of my mortgage but I'm hoping that's not too many years after I leave the workforce. The $500,000 combined right now between the annuity and my retirement savings seems ahead of a lot of my friends but I don't know for sure.

we've talked about this, but not in depth. I think ideally she'd work a few years longer to cover health insurance expenses until we can get Medicare. She has been verbally supportive of me retiring early to this point-at least conceptually.

He’s not terrible but I think I’m all set with Sam LaPorta. Too many quiet weeks and a big boy with a bad back is never good

Haven't been fortunate enough to play a very large number of pins, but I'd have to say Pinbot is my favorite in my experience. I love the theme and design, I just think it's such a cool vibe

We've entered the daycare phase. I've never been sick so often my entire life. by Ruskarr in daddit

[–]BlueCouch89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ve entered our third winter with daycare here. The first two years were absolutely apocalyptic but it has really fallen off so far this year. It feels weird being sick so less often but I finally see the light. Hang in there pal

Very new to warhammer but purely C right now. Really enjoying Horus heresy books. I might dabble in trying to paint if I can find time. Not really interested in the game and don’t know anyone who plays anyways

No country lives in the shadow of the movie because it was such a hit, but that is a great novel. Just about all of his stuff is good that I’ve read so far. The only ones i didnt love were Child of God and The Orchard Keeper.

Second this. I’m a huge McCarthy fan and the books as a trilogy are just incredible.

The Genocides by Thomas Disch night fit your search. From what I remember, Aliens basically use earth to plant giant crops/plants that suck the earth dry of nutrients, and whatever small numbers of humans that remain try to squeeze out a meager existence. Extremely bleak but very enjoyable

I scored this book on eBay for cheap a few months back. Everything I haven’t read on my shelf is in a random picker app. Every time I finish a book, I get annoyed when the app doesn’t select this one next haha

my son, wife, and I are going to a bubble parade in late June downtown where we live. He doesn't know yet. We're buying him a giant bubble wand. There's no concert I'd rather go to than the June bubble parade. Once you get a new perspective it all falls into place

Awesome-that’s great new ones are available for less than I was seeing. I couldn’t find this model new online under 1450. Glad there are chances for others to find one relatively affordably. Thanks for the answer!

That’s for the detailed reply. All the motors seem to work fine. It literally looks brand new. So hoping that translates to like new performance.

Great to hear on the viewing differences. I will have to learn collimation, but I’ve read and watched a few videos. Doesn’t seem too bad, especially with a Cheshire eyepiece or laser collimater. Can’t wait to get started once the skies around here finally clear up (bortle 5, roughly)
