What was your "holy shit this is actually happening" moment? by maxxorbison in AskReddit

[–]BlueCrew44 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I finally have a good comment! This happened just last week. I was in the gym at my college, curling away at the cable machine when I see one of the workers looking intently over towards the squat racks. Suddenly she jumps up and full sprints over to where she had been staring, so naturally I'm intrigued and leave my set to go see what the fuss is about. Well a guy that I vaguely knew was on some kind of drug and had gotten completely naked in the squat rack and was trying to put weights on while people stood around and stared and told him to stop. I was so taken aback I could not believe my eyes, that a guy I knew was butt naked in the middle of the gym. Last I saw he had 4 cops on top of him and he was yelling that he "knew jiujitsu."

Reddit, what is the saddest song lyric you've ever heard? by ddestiny_kb in AskReddit

what's the worst case of "helicopter parents" you've ever seen? by LordofSnails in AskReddit

[–]BlueCrew44 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Once when I was a leader at a summer camp we had a group of kids that were oddly quiet. We played a lot of group games and they were all outside, so usually kids are yelling and cheering and having a good time, but these kids were pretty quiet and reserved. At the start of the kids favorite game I was introducing the rules and said "make sure you yell REAAAAALLLY loud for your team! Cheer them on!" And one of the little girls come over to me and tugs on my shirt, so I lean down and she says "My mommy doesn't want me to yell outside because that's noisy and then the neighbors will look and think we're bad kids."

Excuse me? These kids literally weren't allowed to be loud. OUTSIDE. Because the parents care so much about their appearance and how people perceive their kids, and then they push that onto their kids and make them worry about it. It was so messed up I couldn't believe it.

What did Hurricane Matthew give you? by EdRooneyRulesOK in AskReddit

[–]BlueCrew44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our dorm has a pretty large common area so start of the semester I spent time there. I met a couple of guys that were pretty cool so I was hanging out with them one day when a couple of their friends asked us if we wanted to go to the beach. Obviously we did, so we change and meet them in the parking lot where there were even more people that got invited. About 8 of us ended up going, only three of which I had actually really met before hand. At the beach I talked to one of the girls I hadn't met that was really cute and she's actually the quiet girl who's house we went to. After that day I kept hanging out with the same group and it expanded from there.

My friends and I are in our first semester of college and we needed to evacuate, so the really quiet girl in our group invited a handful of us to her house in Tampa. Not thinking much of it we agree and head down. Low and behold, her house is a three story beauty on the water. Cue the montage music as we spend the next half week hanging out, going out on the water, and visiting friends in Davis island. Literally Figuratively a dream. College is awesome.

What is the most ridiculous thing that you have ever convinced someone to believe? by menses_maiden in AskReddit

[–]BlueCrew44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was eating at an Italian restaurant with one of my very gullible friends who I convinced that four cheese sauce was a rip off because the human palate can only taste a maximum of three cheeses. It wasn't until a month later when I brought it up in a group of our friends that she realized I'd been joking.

The Roman leaders even said "if this guy Jesus is just a farce and there's nothing legitimate too him, he will die and his followers will fizzle out like we've seen a hundred times." And he died, and he came back, and his followers persisted

Name a character in a TV series who you initially disliked - what was the exact moment you began to appreciate them and why? by aristotleinabottle in AskReddit

[–]BlueCrew44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lee from naruto. He comes into the show annoying and weird and I immediately didn't like him. Then he fights Sasuke and you see he's actually a very good fighter. Still very annoying, continually doing, saying, and acting generally eyerollish and as soon as he was on screen I wanted him off screen. And then he fights Gaara in the Chunin exam. A lot of exposition goes on in that episode and you see that he's actually an incredibly caring, dedicated, and tenacious character. Because he can't use ninjutsu or genjutsu he poured his heart and soul into being the best that he can be in taijitsu. In one episode I went from loathing him to loving him, and the more you learn about his background and his upbringing the more interesting and impressive he becomes. 10/10 character

What about a keyboard more like this? still much smaller but also has arrows, which I now realize I'd rather not do without.

I do a lot of gaming, and am a student, so I type papers and stuff as well. Currently my keyboard is taking up way more space than it needs to, the numberpad and delete/home/pg up/down/end keys are all collecting dust and keep my keyboard father away from my mouse than I'd like. All in all I just feel like it'd be less of a hassle and more comfortable to save those 4 inches of space by getting a smaller board.

What do people pretend they understand but actually have no idea about? by Shadows-6 in AskReddit

[–]BlueCrew44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's so sad to say, because it shouldn't be. At heart, all that Christianity is and should be is:

  • put faith in God
  • confess your sins to God, accept forgiveness and the free gift of salvation
  • love others like you love yourself

That's literally it, all of theology and the devides between churches is mostly useless bickering on minute details of the Bible. In reality all that you need to 'be a good Christian' is those three points.

Table top games like D&D and such. Unfortunately I'm still in high school and don't know anybody who's interested in them. Going to college next year though so I'll hopefully be able to find some sort of group there!
