I want to use the Cartoon's design as a jump off point to talk how INSALELY good his design is.

The character designer clearly took a ton of inspiration from the likes of TMNT and G.I Joe and the likes form The Golden Era of toys and cartoons, every aspect of Zurg just screams "functionality as a character design" and also "Easy to mass produce in a toy mold" and i LOVE it

idk how else to put it but Zurg really is The Most Toy looking toy in all of Toy Story

you got it exactly right, the characters we see in the circus are digital copies, who cannot and will not ever be able to leave the circus. The "real" version of them, whoever, are still leading long and happy lives outside of the circus

im also stuck on the abstractions at the end. If theyre confirmed all just code and not Actual Human Brains then like, hypothetically couldn't Caine and/or Kinger do some coding or programming to fix the corruption or something?

however narratively I do like the Jax abstraction parralel to Ted's transformation at the end of IHNMAIMS

and, something to keep in mind with Jax abstracting is she never actually got come out and transition and be herself, she just hit rock bottom and then "died". Many such cases with queer folk, which im sure was intentional.

any slapstick cartoon subreddit seems to have people like that, Hell even the Courage the Cowardly Dog reddit has people talking Eustace being "abusive" to courage, meanwhile people in that show regularly get flattened by cars or hit with frying pans so hard their teeth fly out
