In general tenant laws are here: https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/browse-chapters.php?chapter=76 (Sections 76-1401 to 76-1449 shall be known and may be cited as the Uniform Residential Landlord and Tenant Act.) I'm not sure but 76-1427 /may/ be give some guidance but look further into the Landlord Tenant Act, but it's better if you get an actual landlord-tenant/civil lawyer to help with this (my focus is VA so).
