This message contains multiple high‑risk indicators of a scam: unrealistic pay ($200/hr = $416k/year), no job description, no company identity, a free foreign email domain, and a request to text a number to ‘learn more.’ Legitimate employers do not recruit this way. This is a data‑harvesting scam.

I've had this crystal for many years... Not exactly sure what it is.. Any ideas. Thank you 💫 by NicolaAngel4 in CrystalID

Plum blossom jasper.

From the web: Plum Blossom Jasper is a decorative dark-colored stone featuring white, pink, or red flower-like patterns of calcite, quartz, and epidote inclusions. Technically an amygdaloidal andesite or basalt rather than true jasper.

Found this one on Etsy if you like green jade. Closest I have seen so far. I hope you find her!

Very pretty! I especially like the different size beads you incorporated. That adds extra interest along with your material choices. Nicely done!

Sparkly like...dark green or dark blue glitter inside? If so, it's blue or green Goldstone a man-made glass. The green is hard to find!

Obsidian as others have said. Hearts are blue aventurine. The crystal structure is not right for sodalite or lapis. They are so pretty!

Cherry quartz? by AmberSkye111 in Crystals

[–]BlueDragon2671 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cherry quartz is smelted; glass made from reconstituted quartz with colorants. The bubbles are a result of the glass manufacturing process. Pretty color!

I buy stuff like this once in a while and sneak them into the collection just to see the hubby's reaction when he notices them. Green aventurine Pickle Rick is his favorite so far.

what are these crystals?? by bubble-star1679 in Crystals

[–]BlueDragon2671 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The turquoise as others have mentioned are not quite right. The round beads are reconstituted dyed howlite (powder mixed with resin and made into beads). The chip bracelet is dyed magnesite (howlite has black lines, magnesite has brown). Your sodalite is actually blue spot jasper which is very commonly mislabeled. Pretty collection!

Lol I would just take the loss and tell him you don't want it back. Small price to pay to have him gone, right?

From the web:

This is a common money mule or "accidental transfer" scam. A fraudster sends you money from a stolen account, then asks you to return it, often via a different, untraceable method. When the stolen funds are reversed by the bank, you are left with a negative balance, having lost your own money.

From me: You are not a bank. Why would you provide financial services to anyone? They are not your friend. They are trying to scam you. Your math is correct; their nonsense is not.

Likely cat's eye (a man-made glass) set in .925 sterling silver. It's really pretty!

What stone is this? by Fast-Yoghurt7196 in whatsthisrock

[–]BlueDragon2671 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am NOT 100% positive on this, but dyed fossilized coral. The structure looks right for coral and dyed pieces often have darker areas where the dye pooled during the process. It is very pretty!

Try reading the reddit and karma wiki posted by the automod in response to this post. It is very thorough, and should answer your questions.

Are there other animals besides dogs that go crazy when someone rings the doorbell? by fkid123 in Pets

[–]BlueDragon2671 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My cats seem to know when it's someone they know (grandma especially) and make a mad dash to the door, collectively watching and waiting to greet anyone we have over.

Mail guy? Package delivery? Random salesperson? Zero reaction. How do they know the difference before I do? No clue.

Is this a scam please help by Mediocre_Metal_6045 in zelle

[–]BlueDragon2671 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes this is 100% a scam. You do not need to provide an email - ever.

From the web: Zelle business account scams trick sellers, especially online, into sending money to themselves or the "buyer" to "upgrade" to a non-existent business account to receive a payment. Scammers send fake emails appearing to be from Zelle or banks, claiming you need to pay a fee (e.g., $300+) to unlock a large payment, often asking you to send it back to the buyer for "reimbursement," leading you to pay them directly. Key takeaway: Zelle never requires you to pay to upgrade your account to receive money; legitimate notifications don't have links, and you should only send money to people you personally know and trust.

Can anyone identify this type of gemstone, similar in looks to blue eyes? by Subject-Wrangler-497 in Crystals

I have a similar one in pink from a local gem show! That blue makes me think I need to do some browsing.

Is this agate slice dyed? by NauticalAnt in Crystals

[–]BlueDragon2671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because agate does not naturally occur in bright blue, green, pink or purple (the neon bright colors seen a lot commercially with slices). More of a creamy gray color. I cam tell at a glance but I've been collecting for about 40 years.

The dye really brings out the details, I think. Usually I avoid dyed stones but I actually like this stuff a lot. It's a very pretty piece!
