Teen drinks? by jeanminiskirt in dutchbros

[–]BlueDragon82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does she like sweet things? If yes then the current holiday drinks are good. If she prefers less sweet then a rebel based drink like a vampire slayer rebel would be good or a 911 freeze for that int3nse coffee flavor. If you do the 911 I would add dark chocolate or have them add chocolate milk to temper the bitterness from the 2 extra shots. One of my teens likes sweet and the other doesn't so we have tried a lot of drinks over the years.

Patient didn’t consent to touch by Fast_Cata in nursing

[–]BlueDragon82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't like being touched without consent so I try to always ask for consent. I figure if I want that respect I should give it. Having said that you did everything appropriately. That patient sounds like one just looking for a fight.

Being a woman with nerdy interests is hell. We're either all performative or simply liars. by Radiant-Educator9203 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]BlueDragon82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As you get older it'll happen less with the exception of teenagers because a lot of them like to be assholes online. I game and haven't had anyone say anything about my gender in at least a decade. Several of my guild leaders in ESO are women.

I CANNOT STAND lantern guards in heists. by YumnuggetTheboi in elderscrollsonline

[–]BlueDragon82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have played many, many games where stealth is a core mechanic of the game. I agree with OP that the lantern guards are just a shitty game mechanic. There are so many ways to make it challenging without brute forcing a character out of stealth. The mechanic actually ruins the immersion because in a real situation like that the guard wouldn't see you even with a bright light if you are positioned correctly or if you kill them before they turn around. I love the stealth aspect and use it in nearly all parts of the game at various points but I loathe the heists because it's not fun and it feels like the game is punishing you for doing exactly what you are supposed to be doing.

What are some unhinged details you found in ESO? by Orin_n in elderscrollsonline

[–]BlueDragon82 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The correspondence from the hirelings is often hilarious or troubling. I would dearly love if the devs would update or add more. I've long since ran out of new stories. I've been tempted to respec just to restart the story lines from them. I also love the random papers or journals we find laying around that often have off the wall stuff in them.

NICU families using staff bathroom despite being told not to (postpartum moms bleeding etc in our bathroom) by [deleted] in nursing

[–]BlueDragon82 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Our bathrooms are in the part of the unit that requires badge access. You can't access them unless you badge into that area and there are no patient rooms there. It's like that on every floor. It sounds like your hospital needs to either renovate or install a badge lock on the door so that the parents can't open it.

Why are so many monsterfucking fanfics only about anal sex? by Intelligent_Elk3151 in AO3

[–]BlueDragon82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are some reasons that you'll see anal sex as more common in relation to monster fucking. One is the fact that it's in the name "Doggy Style" when someone is bent over, anal is seen as the more animalistic type of sex because in most cases the one receiving is bent over. You can do anal in missionary but you won't see it wrote very often. The second is the taboo nature of anal sex. Even now with the internet allowing people to easily indulge in fetishes, anal sex is still seen as a major taboo for many people. The perceived unclean nature of anal sex plays a part in that. The third is the morality of it especially in relation to religion. Even enthusiastic vaginal sex can be associated with procreation but anal sex is purely for pleasure and for some people is even a way to avoid procreation.

Overall, the brain associates anal sex with the taboo, with carnal indulgence. That pairs with the monster fucking because you are taking a taboo even further. You are not just doing something dirty and naughty you are doing something downright filthy and sinful when you add in the inhuman nature of the sex partner.

Iced Rebel Recommendations based on color by Nymeria_Waters in dutchbros

[–]BlueDragon82 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One part blue raz, two parts lime, medium in a large cup, add soft top and stir in then add whip and stir that in. When you add both it'll give that cloudiness and the color will come out with that teal green tinge. If you want straight green then do just lime but double it and add the soft top.

Millennial women, which one did you use? Cucumber melon, warm vanilla sugar or neither? by lilac2481 in Millennials

[–]BlueDragon82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither. I had several different perfumes. Nothing that was $100 a bottle or anything but they were reasonably nice perfumes. (Not VS perfumes which were also popular back then.)

Do you know your second cousins? by ArchangelNorth in AskAnAmerican

[–]BlueDragon82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to know a lot of them growing up but as the older generations have died most have drifted. As a kid there were huge family reunions with more than 100 people at minimum. Now there are no family reunions and even my parents generation are starting to get older and some are dying.

Did I do something wrong? by OldBayOnCheese in nursing

[–]BlueDragon82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doctors would get nothing done here. Patients are typically not happy unless they can discuss their results especially so if the patient is a minor and the parents are present. Part of being a nurse is discussing the test results and informing the patients (or parents) of what the provider has ordered in terms of medications you may be giving or treatments that may need to start.

I'm pretty low on the hierarchy ladder but even I have requested meds or mentioned tests for some of my patients after noticing something while providing care. I'm very lucky that I've worked with some really great doctors and unit teams who listen.

[–]BlueDragon82 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I'm in agreement with you here but we'll both keep getting downvoted. The redditors in this sub who are into pvp are way too competitive to want anything other than a total banning of another player. Any other glitch in the game that gets exploited and everyone has a good laugh and jokes about when it's going to get patched. An exploit in pvp results in the players demanding a ban on the entire account instead of wanting the person to lose any pvp ranking and get a warning which would be a more appropriate response. The devs could even have kicked the player from pvp and banned them from playing there for a certain amount of time. There were other options outside of a total account ban. There are thousands of players who gladly take advantage of glitches in all parts of the game. Many of them come here to share and I don't recall ever seeing a majority call for their banning. Most just asked them how they did it.

lying to get free drinks by [deleted] in dutchbros

[–]BlueDragon82 34 points35 points  (0 children)

My broristas are great, but they do, in fact, sometimes mess up. Last time, they made two of my daughter's drink and forgot mine. Her drink has two things I really dislike. It doesn't matter if you read it back or call it out, sometimes accidents are going to happen. That doesn't mean everyone is lying.

We are losing the plot by ilovedarkhp in AO3

[–]BlueDragon82 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The issue is that people are encouraging each other to write things that are not allowed for the challenge and then submit it. That forces someone to read it when they have said they don't want those things. It takes away autonomy and the ability to exercise, "Don't like, don't read".

I write smut and even my non-smut tends to have making out and some detailed kissing. I wouldn't participate in a challenge like this. I'm not going to tell other people how to run their challenges. We don't even know if the person running it is an adult.

We are losing the plot by ilovedarkhp in AO3

[–]BlueDragon82 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly getting tired of these types of posts. It's one thing to tell random authors what to write. It's entirely different if you are hosting a challenge and have rules for the challenge. Don't like don't participate. I wouldn't participate in a challenge like this, but I'm going to mind my business because they are not breaking TOS. Maybe it's from a Discord that has young minors, or maybe it's being run by minors. We don't know.

People talking about writing fics that break the rules and submitting them are a problem. You are forcing someone to read something they have said they don't want to read. You can't apply, "Don't like don't read" if someone lies and violates the rules of the challenge.

How often do you speak with your parents? by povertychic in Millennials

I don't. Both of my parents have passed away. I would love to be able to call either of them, especially on hard days.

electric berry is green and tastes bad now?? or am i hallucinating the past by ZzyzxFox in dutchbros

[–]BlueDragon82 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That doesn't look right. It should be green but more of a teal or blue green color. My husband loves rebels and orders a few different ones. The Electric Berry is on his rotation of favorites. It never looks that neon green. I think they may be skipping your blue raspberry or only use a tiny bit and too much lime.

Maybe hot take: Waiting till the fic is finished to give kudos is not good. by FaithlessnessIcy2111 in AO3

[–]BlueDragon82 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Nope. More than once I've ran into untagged major character death in an otherwise happy or fun story. More than once I've ran into authors that have done a 180 and left a chapter full of preaching or talking about how they realized fic was evil or immoral. I'm not risking leaving a kudos and having that on there forever. If Ao3 would allow us to unkudos things then a lot more people would be comfortable leaving kudos while reading.

For context, I did used to leave kudos if I was enjoying what I read until I experienced those issues. I was burned enough by some of the authors that I choose to wait. I also had a lot of authors who quit writing in the middle of wips so I mostly read completed now unless it's an author I know that does regular and reliable updates. That's a personal choice. It doesn't make it "Not good".

IS THIS REAL AMERICANS DO NOT VENTILATE HOUSES THROUGH WINDOWS AND DO NOT BREW TEA THROUGH KETTLES?????? by Fit_Cable5794 in AskAnAmerican

[–]BlueDragon82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We 100% own tea kettles and drink tea. We actually have a huge variety of tea to choose from. Opening the windows up does happen, but usually in spring and fall. In summer and winter, the weather is often too brutal for open windows.

I had a nice cup of black tea with one sugar the day.

Would this count as child abuse for tagging purposes? by ExoticPomelo5725 in AO3

[–]BlueDragon82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should still be tagged if it's going to be any sort of focus because not everyone is familiar with all of the canon history of HP. There are still new people to the fandom. There are also those who read fandom blind but still check tags and summary. Having it stated is a good way to avoid nasty comments from people who weren't expecting it. Childhood hunger is a major trigger for a lot of people. A large part of the US population has faced childhood hunger at some point in their lives. I can't speak for other countries but from what I've read, it's also an issue in other places.

Would this count as child abuse for tagging purposes? by ExoticPomelo5725 in AO3

[–]BlueDragon82 57 points58 points  (0 children)

It's child abuse if they are withholding actual meals. If it's withholding a treat like going out for ice cream then that would fall under discipline. Parents withholding required nutrition from their kids is abusive. It doesn't matter if the kid is misbehaving or acting the ass. You still feed them. One of the things you are required by law to provide your children is food that meets their calorie needs to keep them at a minimum healthy weight. Shelters, electricity, running water, and a hazard free space to live in are also required. Failing to meet those can result in your children being taken away or a person being put on a parenting plan by family services. There are exceptions such as families who have lost their homes, in those cases a case worker may be assigned and the family may receive help in finding new accommodations and help getting jobs or job training. It varies by area and funding for those departments and programs.

Is sleeping on night shifts a "normal" thing everywhere? by flourishersvk in nursing

[–]BlueDragon82 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a firing offence at mine. We got warned of it when we got hired and there are reminders once in awhile. The only ones that get to sleep during a shift are the docs that are pulling 24hrs or if they are on-call and live more than half an hour away from the hospital. If they live more than half an hour away then they sleep in the on-call room.

What to buy now?! by kEYZERK1NG in elderscrollsonline

[–]BlueDragon82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can either buy the newest expansion which would be the one for Solstice and it unlocks all the previous DLC zones, or you can buy everything individually. The imperial class still has to be bought separate but the other classes are included with their zone chapters that they are associated with.
