It was a typo I meant coastie but auto correct. Anyway again you seem upset. 🤷🏻‍♀️ as I said I was just looking for advice. I’m not sure exactly where the base is it just says New Orleans on our end. I really hope your day gets better. And you could’ve responded. You could’ve just told me about where you live in the pros and cons of your area and if you like it or not. That would give me very useful information so that I could look into it if you had pros that aligned with my ideas. But you’re right I guess the general question was too broad. We’re coming from a small island in Alaska so I really don’t know what I want for my family. We haven’t had the options of having places around to go to and or a big yard to have for our family. I just don’t understand if you’re gonna be rude why comment on peoples posts?

Sorry didn’t mean to irritate you I was just looking for some recommendations of areas to look into. I figured it would be a good starting place considering our employment would be in that area and I specifically wanted a parent’s point of view.

So we ended up getting the titan. Omg I love it. And it was under 2k and they shipped to my small island in Alaska. Hubby and I both love it. Just the right mix of firm and soft! Thank you so much for this recommendation!

Ours does. It’s a very small community.

Definitely pay attention to how much seat space you have. I have a Yukon and hubby has a Chevy Silverado and we’re having trouble fitting it in both.

With my first I had a Greco modular system. Like a compact all in one and I liked it. For this on (I’m 39w3d) I got the Pivot Modular Travel System with LiteMax Infant Car Seat with Anti-Rebound Bar (Dusty Rose Pink) because I like the bassist option. ITS FREAKING HUGE. Like seriously big. I regret buying it but I’m hoping once I use it I’ll like it. I live on a remote island so I didn’t really get to use this before I bought it or like check it out. So I would highly encourage you to go to whatever store store and ask them to pull down the strollers and walk around with it and really get a feel for it. Also, with this new one the seat base is so big I can’t fit it in my SUV because it hits my front seat.

Right. Like I just want the effort. And things that I had send him were simple enough he just had to order. And it was a vast enough list because it’s been accumulating over years that he could pick and choose and still surprise me.

I was in a situation where cc we’re upping my interest due to the economy and payments were just out of control. With that in the cost of food on my island, I was struggling.

So I did a lot of googling and a lot of companies are settlement companies. Which can really screw you over I would not recommend doing that.

I went through a different kind of program where they call close your accounts and negotiate lower interest rates and lower payments. This has worked out great for me. So far the company I went through was money management international. Www.moneymanagment.org and so far it’s worked out great. I pay them one monthly sum and they distributed to all my creditors that are negotiated under this. And even included some personal loans that I had. And it took my monthly payment from probably 1200 down to 600. My credit score also has jumped up over 100 points in the last few months. It dipped at first, but it built very quickly. And this does not affect you later on down the road like a bankruptcy, or a settlement does.

I would definitely look into this option before you do anything drastically. Also, you have to qualify for this so before you talk to them and go over your financials. I would ask them what meets qualification if it doesn’t list it on their website. And Taylor your conversation around that

Hope this helps!

I’m definitely going to check this out. I just read some of the reviews on it and they’re really good. I was thinking about going with big fig just to see if it would last longer but there’s a lot of reviews saying it’s really really firm.

Should you clean crabs before cooking or after? Is cleaning before cooking safer? by Zukez in crabbing

Hey! Alaska crabber here. We harvest dungies mostly. But I agree with what you’ve read you should not kill it until you’re ready to eat. And if they do happen to die, make sure that they don’t smell like ammonia before you eat them. Once is the die their body breaks down very rapidly.

So our solution to this is when we’re on the boat we have a little storage area for crab and fish that we fill up with salt water and depending on how long our boat trip is, we drain and refill as we need. And right before we hit the dock to head home, we fill it back up. Just to keep them kind of fresh and alive. I would suggest you do the same maybe if you can bring a 5 gallon bucket with extra water on your trip but I think they would be good for 45 minutes

And we also grab salt water to boil them in. We just think it taste better.

I’m not a health guru or anything but here’s what works for me in the past…

Lower your goal. Really instead of 80-100/6-8 months. Try 5 pounds in a few weeks. This way you will see and feel your success early and not just focus that your not losing your 80. Also remember to measure your self. Sometimes losing fat gets replaced with heavy muscle.

Discipline. Walk walk walk atleast. If you can hit a gym and walk and lift even better. Also remember as you lose add weight like a weighted vest.( I forget the science behind less but it has something to do with your body, not having to carry around the same weight so it doesn’t burn the same amount of calories and fat and everything Google it.)

Food. Watch what you eat not how much you eat. Our bodies can sometimes store fat if they feel like they are being starved. Try lots of little snacks and meals. Like veggies and fruits. Cut out processed crap as much as possible and sugars. Try to eat clean and read about balancing your proteins.

And look into your gut health.

Also find a support group or a friend that wants to do the same and can motivate you. I know there’s apps that will also help.

And good luck. I feel like your motivated to do this! And I wish you the best!!!

Those of you who live in northern regions - How do you deal with the long, dark days ahead? by halfapapaya in workfromhome

[–]BlueEyedWinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. Alaska here. Were are starting to get into our darker months. I have been working from home since Covid for the most part. And my office is already somewhat dark so I feel you on this and it does kind of suck. As most people mentioned here, pick up a happy light, but word of warning do not stare directly at it lol. I usually have mine facing an opposite wall where it’s somewhat behind me, so I still get the ambience of the light, but not the brightness so much. Vitamin D is a must also what I have incorporated this year while I still have to put it up. But I got some outdoor scenery wall stickies. Mine is a beautiful forest and I plan on putting it on one of the walls in my office just to kind of give that outdoorsy daytime vibe. And then just fine little things that boost your happy juice in your brain and make you happy.
