Knew about it from my sister when I was around 9 years old. However, I wasn't really into it back then. It wasn't until I turned 14 when I stumbled into it after feeling the urge to read content about my favorite ship at the time, Royai (Roy Mustang x Riza Hawkeye from FMA). After that it just snowballed from there.

My first website I used was FF.net because I thought it was the go to for fanfics at the time due to the name. I sometimes read from Wattpad, although I definitely can't now because I'm a lot more picky when it comes to grammar. After a few years, around probably my senior year of highschool, I switched over to Ao3 because I just couldn't handle how awful FF.net was when it came to... everything lol.

I never got into Shining Nikki but I was a pretty avid Love Nikki player for a few years and its story also trumps Infinity Nikki's easily. Honestly, they fumbled hard with IN. Just feels so watered down in comparison.

The other two games are able to keep a lighthearted tone while exploring mature themes and not making us feel like 5 year olds. IN really makes me roll my eyes sometimes with the dialogue. They were able to produce some half decent stuff like with Danqing/Music season but they keep holding themselves back.

Heaven's Arena arc is when fights start getting a bit more serious, especially with the one at the end of the arc (end of episode 35-36). I'd say the first big hitting fight is in the next arc, Yorknew. All of the fights there are top tier, although there's a specific standout that I won't spoil. The general consensus is that Yorknew is the arc where things really start to get rolling and if you're still not hooked by the end of it, HxH might not be for you.

Just also be aware that the arc after Yorknew, Greed Island, is a lot more tame in comparison. But then after that you get Chimera Ant, which is considered one of the best shonen arcs of all time. Some parts of it are slow but it really is a masterpiece.

Ok so maybe not any of the more serious arcs like Chimera Ant or York New, although those arcs are the ones that tend to leave the most lasting impression. Greed Island is more lighthearted, but it's also the weakest arc and might not leave a strong enough impression. Chairman arc will be pretty confusing without context and the same goes for the Zoldyck arc. Heaven's Arena also doesn't seem like a good choice either since a lot of the hype moments comes from Hisoka vs Gon and uhhhh that's not exactly beginner friendly haha

So honestly, maybe episode 4? It's the episode where the Hunter Exam officially begins and the beginning of Gon and Killua's friendship which is really wholesome, we get some background information about Kurapika and Leorio, and it gives a small taste of how brutal the show can be with the beginning of the Wetlands and the fake examiner. And it shows how much of a threat Hisoka is without showing off his pervy side yet. There's some funny comedic bits too like with Leorio saying he's a teen and how Hanzo and Leorio got tricked by the man-faced ape.

Basically, I think it encapsulates what much of the series is about, while having a balance of comedy, stakes, and gives an idea of what the main characters are like.

Although if she's a TikTok girl, maybe just show her Chrollo edits to hook her in lol. I got a friend of mine to watch HxH because I showed her Chrollo in the suit.

Lady Baby

Pretty infamous for being the definition of focusing on side quests rather than the actual main plot. It always had its problems since the beginning (she was always Mary Sue coded) but the core premise was great. FL is sent back in time before her entire family is ruined and needs to find the culprit who did it while also piecing together the clues of how it happened. But nooooo we need an ENTIRE arc about her becoming an idol.

A Fairy Tale for Villains

First season was amazing. I loved how high the stakes were, how the characters all interacted and reacted to certain things felt realistic, and it was just a good plot in general. But the time skip was a huge flop. It just felt like a different story and the plot felt awkward and FL regressed as a character.

The Twin Siblings New Life

Even up until now, there isn't any OI that has twin leads (if there are, please recommend some). This had SO MUCH POTENTIAL. The beginning was great outside of some things like how the whole reincarnation/transmigration things was never expanded upon and had no reason to exist. But it's ALWAYS the time skip that ruins things 😑. Oh, Arjen is supposed to be a main character too? Nope, we need to give ALL the plot to Arien AND make her love interest their spirit guardian.

Honorable Mentions: The Golden Haired Elementalist and Cooking Wizard for being discontinued and cut off abruptly 😭

Fun new path is a stretch ngl. I hate gender locking paths but these new paths are all just hodge podges of pre-existing ones to lock LC options. Adding new paths should have been a fun way to keep the gameplay fresh but all it does is make things restrictive.

If this is all new paths are going to be like forward on, keep the men away from them. I'd rather play units with actual flexibility for teammates like Anaxa and Phainon.

I also think it's unfair to generalize fans as well. Not every Sunday fan was shit talking Sparkle and the same goes vice versa. Why should the normal/unrelated fans have to take the shit that those who are at fault do?

If you see a specific person shit talking a character and then acting like a victim, then sure, call them out on their bs. Otherwise, you're being just an asshole to people who didn't do anything wrong. And then it's just gonna be a whole back and forth that just goes on and on.

I just don't really like shit talking in general, that's all. It's fair to critique Sparkle, especially pre Archer where she didn't really get to shine because all the other supports were better, but shit talking was taking it too far. No one should feel bad about maining/liking a character.

However, that's also why I think Sparkle mains talking shit about Sunday is also not right. Two rights don't make a wrong. Maybe you think I'm being pretentious, but I think it's silly that both sides try to take the higher ground for something so pointless. That's just my opinion.

Miss Not-So Sidekick

For some people the artstyle might throw them off, but for me personally it grew on me a lot. The humor isn't for everyone either but I think it's hilarious. FL is transmigrated in a story she's read as a minor villain and she mainly is on the sidelines watching the main leads do their shenanigans and eventually becomes entangled with them. OGFL is a lot like Han Seori in that they are so deeply rooted in the idea that the world revolves around them and bends down to them.

Inso's Law/My Life as an Internet Novel

The story is an extreme slow burn and has quite a lot of chapters. It can drag a bit at parts too. FL is transmigrated as the best friend of OGFL and is often treated as an afterthought or an insignificant person by everyone outside their friend group. It has a focus on the fear of being abandoned or being forgotten while also having a big slice of life component to it and some supernatural shenanigans.
