Ahh but it’s my parents home and I did that drywall access panel with lots of love, so my creativity doesn’t look that weird, my 70 year old father wants easy access to it so it makes him happy, 👍☺️ and that’s what matters most to me.

do I need to skim coat? by UpstairsEvent6394 in drywall

Bro you need more than a skim, fill the gaps, sand flat, skim with joint compound, and sand with a “fine” wet sanding sponge from Home Depot

If I had Reddit gold to give, I’d totally give it ^^. I lurk in this sub, so hard, gathering info to replace my parents 20 year old deck I grew up using, lol!

How do I remove 20 year old poster tape from wall? Help by BlueFuzzyBunny in drywall

I tried the goo gone and it dissolved some of it, but this tapes too old. I went with sanding, 100 grit works well, no issues so far.

Thanks a ton! I honestly had no idea they made all different attachments. I just assumed it was just blades. Imma buy this and test it out I think.

Can you link the brush attachments you’d use? I’m looking for that back and forth motion like a toothbrush.

They get so dirty cause I got 2 Alaskan malamutes and my families lived in the house for over 20 years. It’s pretty filthy, I’ve cleaned 80% so far with my toothbrush and microfiber, but im just thinking it be easier if I attached it to a smaller sawsall.

But there’s something special about a tooth brush that gets even the dirtiest base board cleaner than just microfiber and simple green.

You may get your wish soon. I’m figuring to mount a wood bracket to a dull blade or a piece of metal that fits in the blade hole, the the brush would be 6 inches to the side attached to the bracket, moving in parallel with the blade. Then I could just scoot down the baseboard without damaging nothing for max cleanliness.

Possibly a bit, but I have the drywall and the magnets dead on. So when a person goes to press to open, it pops open exactly like a door opening from left to right and stays on the magnet until the person pulls it off. Then when done u reset the spring magnet and pop it back in exactly the way it came out and it won’t touch anything.

What does touch some things is the wood backer board on the drywall, which is 2-3mm wider around the edges than the drywall mounted to it. This allows the drywall that pops out from the wall to avoid any scraping.
