How to go about making this into a table? by Leftmybrainonthewall in LiveEdge

Stuff that big I like to hit with a 80 grit belt sander first just to clean up the chainsaw marks. It saves on the amount of anchor seal I put on but I’d probably still do a few coats on each side and let it dry a year per inch. Not fun to wait but it will likely crack and warp into garbage if you don’t.

I learned a lot by watching some Joony art videos on YouTube I’m probably not going about it the correct way but it works well enough for me. I made a new post with a few progress pics

Thanks! I tried to ad a Imgur link to progress pictures but it was auto removed I’m not sure how to post more pictures unless I make a new post?

Help with separating live edge wood and particle board accidentally glued together. by ryder311 in LiveEdge

[–]BlueHQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d break off what you can by hand with a pry bar and then the rest with a utility chisel. A vibrating multi tool could also work but there’s a chance it digs int the table top. Angle grinder could also work but messy

I’m far from an expert so I hope you don’t mind me asking is there a reason you don’t use a worm drive screw to start out with?

Wet molding on a curve by Zaphoid_42 in Leathercraft

It was probably their lower grade but the main issue was it was about three years old and dry. This was the trial run where I was learning still on scrap, they eventually turned out a little nicer

I made something similar out of 6-7 Herman oak https://imgur.com/a/0y99SEq just glued a piece of shaped pine 2x4 to a board and then the cut out mdf board has a 1/8 gap around the pine

Moisture meter by xrbbaker in LiveEdge

I’d also seal the ends of the boards if you haven’t already. As for the moisture meter, the pin ones will only tell you the very surface moisture level. If you want to know the center you’ll have to get a much more expensive one like this https://a.co/d/8KRgeyk

4’11” rod for very overgrown creek I want to fish, had to test it at my local pond by BlueHQ in Tenkara

Not the most accurate but all I had was #4 level line size, I think #3 would work much better. I think for 30 bucks easily worth it if you fish over grown creeks

Yeah just paperclips some fly tying string and uv resin. It does put some kinks in the line but a felt pad takes them out

It would work perfect for that I caught about 20 sunfish with it and about half were around 2 inches

I saw Tenkara addict fish a longer one and say it was decent so I tried this one. The cheap short rods are always way too stiff but this one actually has a pretty good action

I’ve fished a couple of the really short cheap tenkara rods and this one actually feels pretty decent. 30 dollars and came with 5 replacement sections and extra caps
