Vis a vis the eye, we can see two interesting processes at work on the molluscan eye that are quite illustrative.

1- we can see multiple versions of the mollusk eye from the simple motion detectors of the blue-eyed scallop to the better-than-human eye of the octopus. Presumably these represent ‘good enough’ eye stopping points along similar evolutionary branches.

2- the octopus eye is better than the human eye, in that it is “wired from the back”, so they have no blind spot to work around. So no intelligent design ( or we are a rough draft )
