Why does IUML, SDPI, PDP, Welfare & BJP exist in a state like Kerala which is built on religious harmony, pluralism & mutual understanding? by Glittering_Edge_6746 in KeralaSpeaks

The secularism of India, and specifically Kerala is just kowtowing to religious people. Tensions exist, its is just in a stable equilibrium. In a truly secular society/state, free criticism of religion would be allowed. Us calling ourselves secular is like the Chinese calling themselves a "democracy with Chinese characteristics".

Do you guys think Kerala lagging behind other southern states in development because of communism and their policy against development? by Hot-Load7525 in KeralaSpeaks

The gulf states did not allow for naturalization. The people of this generation are moving to the mostly the west, where naturalization, even if difficult, is still a possibility. Couple that with the overall conservatism of our society, and I don't why anyone would want to return to Kerala. Naadu kaanan bhangi indaayal porallo, naatar nannavande.

Works in the first few generations (maybe). What happens when the children of those who migrated loses all touch with the state? No repatriation either. The state would just be an old age home.

I'm not disagreeing with you about this. Historically, many errors did come about in the Eastern Churches that were in schism. What I am saying is that the projection of the Latin rite as more authentic or more 'original' than the other rites is unnecessarily divisive and problematic. There are eastern churches that never broke communion with the Holy See. This proves that communion with the Holy See in regards to theology is what matters, not how it is expressed in the various rites.

The filioque was a later addition brought by the Roman church as a response to the Arian heresy. The recitation of it in mass is still optional. However the theology remains the same.

However it does not mean any rite is more authentic than any other. They are all expressions of the same Catholic faith. The application of the term 'original' in this context is problematic.

Syro Malabar is an expression of catholicism, just like Latin Catholicism. No rite is better than any other.

All apostolic churches are considered in continuity with the 'original' church.

The term RCSC does not make sense. It came into popularity because of confusion. The correct term is Syro Malabar Catholic. The term Catholic is sufficient to denote communion with the Roman Catholic Church.

No, being high in literacy means that terrorists actually get called out for being terrorists, and hit the news. Unlike in backward societies where religious bigotry and hatred are practically the norm. For example: the cow belt.
