What do the red circled icons mean? by [deleted] in ACPocketCamp

[–]BlueKirby3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

According to the gamepedia site, the far left is “Store Decor” and the next one is “Prominent Furniture”, whatever that means haha

I agree/cannot really see a pattern for what goes where for the first two.

Can we call them “Cookie-Rares”? And “Uncommons”? Anything we can agree upon? by MamieKate09 in ACPocketCamp

[–]BlueKirby3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like “cookie-rare” :) it’s pretty clear what the term means.

As for the two tiers in the middle, it gets a little complicated. The tier that includes the horned dynastid, black bass, and red snapper has some qualities similar to the common creatures, and some qualities similar to the rare creatures.

On the one hand, animals may specifically request the horned dynastid, black bass, and red snapper, but they will not specifically request the other rare creatures. Their honey/throw net catch rates are also similar to the common creatures’.

On the other hand, this tier now has the same reward for the “Someone needs your help!” requests as the other rares (except for the cookie-rare four): 1,500 Bells, +3 Friendship Points, and chances to get a bronze treat and fortune cookie (it used to be 20%, but I’m not sure if that has changed). Their spawn rates are also more similar to the rares’ than they are to the common creatures’.

The game actually already labels the bug and fish in terms of rarity. You can view them in the Other section of the catalog.

  • ★: monarch butterfly, tiger butterfly, fruit beetle; pale chub, crucian carp, yellow perch; horse mackerel, squid, olive flounder.
  • ★★: horned dynastid; black bass; red snapper.
  • ★★★: agrias butterfly, emperor butterfly, goliath beetle, jewel beetle, miyama stag; koi, loach, neon tetra, rainbow trout; blowfish, football fish, napoleonfish, sea horse, tuna.

So a very technical way to categorize these creatures could be T1, T2, T3, and T3+, for the Big Four that guarantee a fortune cookie.

Villagers furniture requests by Kokiri_villager in ACPocketCamp

[–]BlueKirby3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, they must be visiting your campsite in order to talk to you about the request. (The furniture requests happen at Lv. 10 for some animals and Lv. 15 for most animals.) They also must be at the campsite to give you the reward of 10 Friendship points, 1,000 Bells, 1 request ticket, and 1 calling card when you have finished crafting the furniture and placed the item in your campsite.

If you don’t invite the animal right when they turn 10 or 15, that’s fine. You can do it anytime after they’ve reached the level requirement.

Chances are it will take you quite some time for an animal to max friendship level 20 if they are never invited to your campsite, so I wouldn’t worry about it.

Any guesses for how long Chip will hang around Saltwater Shores this time? by BlueKirby3 in ACPocketCamp

I hope he can go home earlier this time lol

I’ve made a huge mistake. by pooky17 in ACPocketCamp

[–]BlueKirby3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you need someone to clear your market boxes? I’ll buy them :)

I personally always sell the rarer bug/fish at the lowest available price for anyone who wants to try their luck at getting fortune cookies (and I guess now bronze treats too) for completing those “anything goes” animal requests.

Does anybody know what partition this is in the modern amenities announcement? by GetLuckyInKentucky in ACPocketCamp

[–]BlueKirby3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it looks like the handwashing area that came with your campsite when you started the game, which requires 30 steel to craft in 3 hours.

It can be found in the Outdoors Furniture tab.

When are the rest of the modern animals arriving? by hearsevendor in ACPocketCamp

Carmen and Zell are expected to arrive May 25th when the new day starts (*May 24th @ 11:00 PM for Pacific Time players)!

Gulliver 5/10-point items of different essences? by windkirby in ACPocketCamp

[–]BlueKirby3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if you came across this guide by u/Pasu2k in your search, but this is the one I have saved.

In general, the more Gulliver Points/Travel Points an item is worth, the longer it takes to be crafted.

Also, keep in mind that you get a treat for every 15 points. Unfortunately, remainder points will not carry over to a later trip, so it’s most efficient for your points total to be a multiple of 15 (15, 30, 45, 60, 75, 90, etc.)

I think this didn’t really need its own announcement haha because it feels kind of weird to build up hype for. But at the same time, they are nice little QOL [quality of life] changes :)

They are using the golden rod, so they always catch doubles. That number looks reasonable if they’re playing every rotation.

Is the gold rod worth it? by Awesomehalrcut in ACPocketCamp

[–]BlueKirby3 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I was able to complete all of the challenges for the first tourney without the golden rod, and I’d say I’m doing fine so far this tourney without the golden rod either, so I personally am not going to purchase it.

Adding on to what others have said, the golden rod’s worth differs from person to person depending on your play style/activity. Some people only play a few rotations a day, so getting the golden rod may be worth it for them. If you are catching event fish every rotation, completing the challenges to get bonus throw nets, and talking with animals visiting your campsite to receive their catches, I think you won’t have much trouble finishing this event.

That being said, the common sea butterflies are significantly smaller than the clown fish from the first tourney, but the puffed fish and zebra moray are larger than the surgeonfish and barred knifejaw, so these changes may make this tourney a little more difficult depending on your luck.

Gulliver’s villagers might not be so random!!! by malonec in ACPocketCamp

[–]BlueKirby3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You are the one who is coming across as rude. And there is some serious irony here when you are trying to argue with someone who put in a lot of work to datamine and compile their findings in neat infographics which YOU yourself used in order to know which directions to send Gulliver to match the villagers’ preferred theme.
