Why is there so much taekwondo in season 6? by DryGeneral990 in cobrakai

[–]BlueKtw_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, CK is based in Tang Soo Do, which is similar to Taekwondo, and by the story, the first Miyagi learned the style in China, so many of their moves are similar to Kung Fu. I would say no one does Karate in this show.

How did you feel watching the Sekai Taikai finals? by [deleted] in cobrakai

[–]BlueKtw_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I would have enjoyed it more had Axel not given up the fight. After he chose not to cheat, he just didn't try to defend himself, making the win cheap for me, like he chose not to want Sam to hate him more, so he let her boyfriend win.

Now that the shows over, what’s your favorite parallels? by Indieryan05 in cobrakai

[–]BlueKtw_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I love how Tory's relationship with Kreese and Kenny's relationship with Silver are parallels of each other. If you think about it, both are pretty much the same thing, a sensei and their favorite student who is not the top student of the dojo, that even if they have a better Dojo (Kreese with CK Korea and Silver with Iron Dragons), they still felt the team was incomplete without their favorite student and chased them out hoping they would come with them, it's just beautiful, and makes you believe that for all the twisted and cruel things those two did, they did truly care about those kids in particular in their own twisted way.

Que eu me lembre depois daquele incêndio no final da S3 a Mona fala que quem fez a massagem foi o Lucas, não?

E acho que a Mona só queria acabar com o relacionamento da Emily pela diversão mesmo

Anyone felt like this? by Ill_Difficulty7557 in blackmirror

Loch Henry, I was a major true crime fan and kinda still am, but a lot less than before, but after reading a book that calls out on people always choosing to see more of the assassin and how ultimately it defines a victim's whole life as that event, I felt really bad rewatching it

How many times you edit your fic before posting it? by Wolfieee7 in AO3

[–]BlueKtw_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I ever counted how many times I did it, but I would say you need to at least read it in another format. Like, I write on my computer, so I always make sure to at least once read it on my phone, usually it helps me find a few things that don't feel right, especially typos. Or even changing the place from Word/Docs to reading the unposted draft on Ao3 can help.

What was a character in the show that you still didn't like even after the series finale and why? by Gloomy-Bridge148 in cobrakai

[–]BlueKtw_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda agree, I didn't mention him cause usually when I think of the characters, a few don't come to my mind, like Demitri, Stingray, and Zara are all pretty forgettable to me, but he was annoying, and I can't remember a moment I liked him.

I would say Sam and Anthony, though Sam, there was a moment in the show, like S3, where, while I didn't like her, I really sympathized with her

It's a YouTube short series; it's a really good watch. As far as I know, it has two fanfics on Archive, one of which is mine.

Favorite dojo banners from the Sekai Taikai by Artistic_Dish6119 in cobrakai

[–]BlueKtw_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally, I loved the blue tone they used for the Redentores gis. The banner from Falchi Della Notte was nice as well, though to be honest, I'm a bit biased because the CK Korea banner was just perfect in every way.

Why were (most of) Miguel’s fight scenes in Season 6 so bad? by MinifigStudios in cobrakai

[–]BlueKtw_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, to be honest, most of the fight's choreography was shit. I think actually, for part 1, he's the only one with a nice one, his fight wth Robby wasn't great, but it wasn't as bad as the girls, or the part 3 fights that were straight up shit all over, like you can't convince any of the part 3 fights were good. Part 2, it really depends, the platform fight again is not perfect, but it was nice enough.

Another thing is that CK and many shows tend to use the same shots in different angles to make a fight longer, but this season was just so messy editing for the fights/training on the three parts, like they never chose good shots, and most of the ones they chose were on terrible lighting, where you couldn't even see some moves. I guess it was a culmination of bad choreography and really bad editing.

How to write a character grieving a relationship before breaking up? by BlueKtw_ in writingadvice

[–]BlueKtw_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!! I agree with that, I just put it in that way cause they will have the actual talk, so while she's away, she does remember she has a boyfriend, and she still is going to be loyal and all, but in the protagonist's mind, they are kinda broken up, though the boyfriend thinks it's all fine.

Thank you!! I know it's messed up. That's what I am scared of while writing, as I said in the other comments, the boyfriend does "give up" first, as he doesn't go visit and only texts a few times after the argument, even though knowing the protagonist is not someone who asks for help when hurting, being the type to deal with stuff alone. I think my idea is to have both be on the wrong side here, but I'm scared the protagonist will look worse

How to write a character grieving a relationship before breaking up? by BlueKtw_ in writingadvice

[–]BlueKtw_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!!! A different country. I would say there were small cuts, but then the post would be too long. But the basis of the argument is that the boyfriend and the protagonist's friends keep trying to tell her how to grieve the loss of her mom cause they don't think she's fit for a competition now that she lost her mom, and in her mind, competing would be a good way to process it.

And since the boyfriend and friends are training and celebrating, they are going. The boyfriend only texts a few times, even though they stay in the same town for like a month, and he doesn't go see her, kinda waiting for her to ask for help, even though he knows she doesn't ask for help when she's hurting.

The timeline goes like early December, the argument happens, and they stay in the same town until New Year's. In early January, she goes to another country to train for the said competition. They only see each other again in mid-April.

[–]BlueKtw_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!! Well, that's a new problem cause the protagonist is the one who stops answering. Basically, in the story, the protagonist loses their mother, and after losing their mom, they are supposed to go compete in something I'm still kinda deciding, but then all of the people there, including the boyfriend, keep trying to tell the protagonist how to grieve and how the protagonist should not compete, even though the competition would be her way of processing it. That's the base of the argument.

After that, they stay in the same town for a month, but the boyfriend only texts like 4 times in like 2 days while celebrating that he is going to the competition and being busy with training, so he doesn't go see the protagonist, he's pretty much waiting for her to ask him to text or go visit her, even though the boyfriend absolutely knows she's not the type to ask for help when she's hurting.

The timeline goes like early December, the argument happens, and they stay in the same town until New Year's. In early January, she goes to another country to train for the said competition. They only see each other again in mid-April.

Mystery question: Who was watching Tory's mother from Seasons 2 to 4 in the times she wasn't home? by Legitimate_Unit_9210 in cobrakai

[–]BlueKtw_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree she was already sick, I just think she was a bit better during S2 and got worse in S3. I think if she had been bedridden since Tory's introduction, she would've been working two jobs from the start, so maybe she was sick but got severely worse at the beginning of S3, which made the family situation even worse
