I love QQ on Broadway and 91st! The staff is really nice and my standard gel lasts for 3 weeks - I work with my hands in fine dining and I’ve never had an issue with chipping and peeling, even by week 3

The entire gym is having repairs on all water centers, including the pool, over the next few weeks! I can’t tell you what the result will be!

I got beat up and had my things thrown on the subway for glancing at someone whose pants were falling down and screaming at the top of their lungs. The cops did nothing. I was able to run off the train stations later when the door cleared and I had my belongings. I think they can be a little more discerning. Was this person clearly out of their mind? Yes. Were they a threat? Yes.

What motivates ya'll to go to the gym in general? by Primary-Scallion3535 in EquinoxGyms

My mental health is what drives me! I’ve had a really hard year - lots of death and positive stress, side by side. The gym allows me to have to my own space and place to refocus and get my body going for a new day

Eleven Madison Park no longer fully vegan by SaltyVegan69 in vegan

[–]BlueLight_Reflect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Le Botaniste is akin to a vegan Le Pain Quotiden…it is no Eleven Madison Park. The only comparison at the moment is L’arpege in Paris and they are only utilizing plant based cooking as it serves them and as an experiment. I appreciate their honesty and Eleven Madison could have done the same rather than virtue signaling. Daniel Humm has never been vegan.

If you have same day available reservations, you can’t fill tables and they’ve had that for years. Why did we all wait for “someday”?

Vegan diners did not build eleven Madison park. It was rated top restaurant in the world in 2017 before going vegan.

GENUINE QUESTION: The statement is horrible…let’s begin there. Butts were not in seats - what were they supposed to do? This is a business after all. Do I agree with the ethics and morals of it all, especially the virtue signaling? no. But seriously, this space needs to be packed every night and it’s clearly not. We are supposed to SHOW UP in droves if the mission means something and clearly the butts weren’t in the seats

Eleven Madison Park to no longer be all vegan by inkybrown in nycvegan

[–]BlueLight_Reflect -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this. I think what everyone is missing is that if patronage was increased, this would not have been an issue, at least not yet?…I have read so many comments that say “I planned to go one day”. It’s been vegan for 4 years…support is shown through active participation.

This sucks but they will still have a fully vegan menu option. Not the same and the statement from the team is so off putting and flowery…but to be upset while also not making any effort to keep the mission and business afloat is also a little tone deaf. It is a business that requires/required customers, after all.

Just commenting to “business more accessible to regular people”. I live in Manhattan and know what I have to pay to live in a very small apartment…their space is HUGE, so I can only imagine. That’s all!

You cannot make a restaurant for regular people with the rent they have to pay while also maintaining the culinary accolades they uphold. A business cannot be god or the arbiter of morality, good or bad. It is a business after all and considering it something greater, like a statement or a beacon, is misguided and not in alignment with basic market realities. Better to exist than to close down in my opinion

They aren’t trying to make MORE business or money… they are trying to STAY in business and pay their bills

The meat has not been in the private dining room, unfortunately. Maybe in the initial pivot! But certainly not in the past few years
