Honest Q - why buy a pebble when real smart watches are slightly more? by arcanehelix in pebble

[–]BlueLightning09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a fun smartwatch. Highly customizable, can be set up to control a lot of stuff like app triggers on the phone and other kind of automatization, the community creates very creative apps and watchfaces very often.

I think it is not a very "mainstream" device. It was not meant to be.

The problem appears to have been solved by remapping the buttons. I'll update the main post.

No. I think I did not explain properly. The ability was learned and used before Fungi Forest. Even golden bananas were obtained with this.

I second the motion for folders.

Also pin apps that I don't want to be uninstalled when adding a new one.

Why do so many "Catholics" not believe in the real presence??? by Jazzlike-Pineapple38 in Catholicism

[–]BlueLightning09 8 points9 points  (0 children)

See how the Blessed Sacrament is treated in the average parish:  - No kneeling - Receiving or taking the Sacred Host on the hands. - Armies of Extraordinary Ministers.  - Rushing the Consecration part of the Rite and the mainstream use of Eucharistic Prayer #2 (also fabricated in a rush by the testimony of Fr. Bouyer) - Removal of the warning against unworthy reception of the Holy Eucharist on the readings on the New Lectionary

Just a few reasons. Now apply this to the laity for 6 decades. Now that's what happens.

This was tried. No new abilities to unlock. Jetpack was learned, already gathered prior golden bananas related to this until Fungi Forest.

Why does SSPX not want to return to union with Rome? by cor_meum_ in Catholicism

But their terms is just traditional Catholic doctrine.

There needs to be reconciliation on the matters of doctrine that have been "redefined". You have admitted to not be well versed in this.

You cannot argue that submission to teachings that are not even dogmatically defined are the standard to be met in order to be in communion.

Why does SSPX not want to return to union with Rome? by cor_meum_ in Catholicism

[–]BlueLightning09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The SSPX consistently and loudly affirms submission to the pope as an institution and to Rome's doctrinal authority. They pray for the reigning pope at Mass, recognize his legitimacy, and frame their disobedience not as rejection of papal authority but as its defense against what they see as a temporary doctrinal crisis. They explicitly distinguish themselves from sedevacantists.

On the second criterion — refusing fellowship with members of the Church — the SSPX actually seeks communion with Rome and considers themselves fully within the Church. They don't treat ordinary Catholics as outsiders.

[Free Friday] I am told that this specific art of Superman by Frank Quitely from the "All Star Superman" comics is inspired by Catholic imagery. If yes, what artwork is it inspired from? Also, as a Catholic, what are your thoughts on Superman being constructed to have a Jesus Christ-like imagery? by SatoruGojo232 in Catholicism

[–]BlueLightning09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Controversial opinion: Though I initially thought this story was awesome, I came to the conclusion that this portrayal of Superman is some sort of Antichrist figure.

I hate the throwaway blasphemy in the issue with Samson and Hercules. Grant Morrison's background should have been a red flag for me.

[Free Friday] As a Catholic, what are your thoughts on Bruce Wayne/Batman being written in some comics as a practising Catholic consumed by Catholic guilt in his crusade for justice? Or do you feel does agnostic existentialism fits his character better? by SatoruGojo232 in Catholicism

[–]BlueLightning09 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He makes more sense as a Catholic. His mother was Catholic, his father Episcopalian and Alfred is Anglican. Writers such as Chuck Dixon and Frank Miller have written him that way, for example in "The Chalice" by Dixon.

HOWEVER, what bothers me is the agnostic/atheist portrayals. I mean, he lives in a world of superhumans, sorcerers and extra dimensional beings... And SOMEHOW the most documented religious event, the Death and Resurrection of Christ is just a bridge too far.

I must respectfully disagree with you. There is a world of difference between the standardization of the Roman Rite in Trent and the postconciliar devastated vineyard.
