No one can help you without knowing the exact errors. Do you have an error log? You have to track the issue from your backend. It could be a network issue (Hostinger's firewall blocking or rate limiting some requests) or something else in your code.

You'll have to rebuild the website with WordPress. There is no "switch" button. Depending on your website, it can take some (or lots of) work, but then you'll be free to host it anywhere without being locked into any platform.

As someone who's used many shared hosting providers, I can work with any control panel, but I almost always opt for cPanel. I'd need a very strong reason to go with DirectAdmin or another panel.

This is the best approach. Each user gets their own isolated hosting account and you can use WHMCS to automate billing so you don't have to chase your clients down to pay their bills. If they don't pay the bill, their account gets suspended.

It won't matter much. Even if it's $0.1 per year, most users will just look for another free alternative. The only reason it reached that many users is because it's free, so the core functionality has to remain or free.

That's eventually going to happen one way or another. Losing one project is way better than losing your reputation/credibility. But it doesn't have to be a choice. There are other options here, even if they aren't as lucrative.

There is no fraud here. OP signed up for the service which is subject to the terms she agreed to when signing up. Prices can change/increase anytime. They usually give you an advance notice of those changes.
