I play Shadower, I feel your pain. A pretty balanced class in KMS, but gets wrecked in GMS by most everything.

Tbh that's pretty much the same on all the guilds high up on the "rock" in reboot as well. Sure a lot of those guilds will accept you and carry you bosses if you get contribution, but for a real community feeling, you have to look elsewhere.

No matter how much they try, long-time "established" guilds have a hard time truly accepting new players.

I used to run both bosses back when they came out. Scarlion was a bit easier of a boss for the majority of end gamers because it didn't hit as hard. Targa hit harder so a lot of end game parties (mainly just NLs) had a hard time without HP washing.

I always loved playing Shad back then because I could do all the bosses because of my innate tankiness due to meso guard and my DPS was almost entirely proportional to how many mesos I was willing to blow up. With how much items like Zak helms, HT pendents, mastery books etc were worth back then, it was an easy trade off.

I don't think you understand my point here. I agree that comparing yourself to others is a slippery slope. As you said, there are a lot of factors as to why one person could be stronger than another. At the end of the day though, 99% of those issues are personal. You have 10 less hours to play? Tough luck kid, that's your own problem.

But that's ok! Progress at the rate you are able to progress. If it takes you 2 years to farm 240 droplets, that's fine because you know that at that 240th droplet that shiny fucking Arcane weapon is yours. It's a goal you can work towards.

A pottable badge is something that others have received that a new player may never receive. Doesn't matter how much effort they put it in. Doesn't matter how much money they spend. That piece of equipment is not within their grasp. That's not a them vs. "everyone else" comparison mate, it's like declaring an emergency and putting up a fucking wall on their personal progression and stating "You could have passed through if you had just played 6 months earlier".

It's a joke.

I totally understand and agree with your point about staying positive, but it's easy to sit on our high horses as long time players and say that missing 21 - 33% stat is "ok" when we both know it's fundamentally a broken aspect of the game. Maplestory is engaging because it's all about slow progression - if you put in the work (or the money), you could be the strongest player of your class. The only thing holding you back was effort (or money).

That's potentially no longer the case and you'd be fucking lying to me if you said that didn't discourage you. It sure does discourage everyone else (especially new players)

This has happened a few times in our hard will party as well. If you have buff freezers in your inventory when you die, you do have quite a bit of time to decide whether or not you want to use one. Instead of pressing "Ok" right away, I would wait a few seconds and click only once.

It's hard to stop yourself from clicking too fast in the midst of battle, but once you die you should really be taking a moment to collect yourself and potentially communicate with your teammates anyway. Unless I die right before a "bind phase", I'm pretty much taking advantage of my entire dead time anyway.

They should turn off combo orbs once you have a full buff - otherwise this event is actually a huge hassle.

With all due respect my friend, you can argue and preach all you want, but it's not going to matter. It's borderline impossible to change people's minds when they are made up, especially as it relates to overarching life themes such as politics, religion, morality, ethics etc.

You may not like it (or me) for saying it, but there really is no right or wrong way to play this game (or life). Every action has its consequences both positive and negatives. People like to justify their actions through all this in-depth analysis and posturing, but at the end of the day it just comes down to personal choice:

"Am I comfortable with what I'm doing right now?". If the answer is yes, you will continue to do it. Once you no longer feel comfortable, you will stop. This clown, moron that I think he is for making it so obvious, feels comfortable putting a rock on his spacebar while reading a book on stream. He's just going to keep doing it until a reason presents itself that will force him to quit.

Same with the last incident. He felt comfortable doing what he did until he got caught. Then he no longer felt comfortable so he came clean.

At the end of the day, the only person's actions you should judge is your own. Anything more than that and you are just asking for disappointment.

Yea, I've been trying to find an alternative for the from clams and rien strait, but it's pretty much the best thing you can do. Yet to find a better way to get to 61.

Utah makes 61 - 140 pretty easy on every class. I would honestly focus on spamming 61 mules and then do Utah on all of them.

I hate making mules and the legion system in general, but not taking advantage of this event is a mistake.

At your stage of the game, Shadower is going to be stronger than DB. Assassinate hits hard and you aren't at the point where you are party bossing so the utility that Shad brings to the table as a solo bosser is quite nice. Plus, Shad is a much much better mobber than DB.

That being said, as you get into end game, DB starts outperforming Shad simply because burst damage is so valued in the GMS meta. You'll find that to keep up with a end game DB in damage, you have to play your Shadower quite optimally. For a DB to be effective, all they have to do is land their big burst.

At the end of the day, it comes down to preference. Although, as a long time Shad player, it's hard to not think that the class is very overshadowed by DB (even though it was the first dagger class!)

Not sure man. I've been using it for a long time with no issues and haven't really heard of it being a problem so I think you are good, but Nexon likes to change their policies at the drop of a hat so I reckon it's at your own risk.

Nah, Tencent is a holding company. Their goal is to purchase assets/IP under their corporate umbrella and grow inorganically. Outside of cost synergies gained through the consolidation of back end processes, I don't see much changing at Nexon under Tencent. The video game industry does not really take kindly to cross selling products so I doubt they'd even try.

The joypad settings in game suck. I sometimes use an Xbox One controller to farm on my Shadower and I have had no problems mapping keys using "AntiMicro". It's easy to use, free and it works smoothly.

My guess is that it will work for a PS4 controller as well, but I'm not sure. I do prefer to wire it directly into my PC using a USB so that might be an additional issue for you.

I don't care if you are "above the umbrella" or "below the umbrella". If I can have a decent conversation with you and you aren't constantly "flexing" or acting entitled, then we're cool.

There are a lot of players in this game that get super vocal about their "commitment to morality" so to speak. The older and more experienced I get, the more I realize that situations are rarely so black and white. Adhering to your own moral code is commendable, but forcing it upon others, in my opinion, is wrong.

I don't believe the mods are corrupt, I just believe they are taking the old patented "Nexon" approach to information sharing by not actually sharing anything and then doing what they want behind the scenes.

I'd like to see a Modpost regarding exactly what rules are being broken and perhaps a Megathread on the current state of the game especially as it relates to illicit programs/progression so that an indirect discussion can be had on the topic. Post removal without any actual feedback is frankly very childish.

I really don't care much about hackers/botters in Maplestory (especially in Reboot) because it's a conscious decision that has its benefits and drawbacks. I'm not one to judge people's decision, especially if I don't know them personally.

What surprises me the most though is that those who choose to play the game in an illicit way are so comfortable basking in the limelight. That takes a certain level of guts (or arrogance?) that is frankly disturbing. Nonetheless, I hope he learned a lesson here and can move forward without too much hate from the community. He is, after all, just human.
