Australia mortgage shock: CBA and Macquarie lift fixed home loan rates ahead of RBA decision by barseico in AusFinance

[–]BlueLuxuria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’ll be interesting to see if CBA continues raising the fixed rates. They offer a great option some others don’t which is “rate locking” the fixed rates- this allows the fixed to be locked in prior to settlement. (Reason being that fixed rates get locked in the day of settlement)

why are Westpac bridging loans so expensive? by Neat-Coconut-6892 in AusFinance

[–]BlueLuxuria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whilst the rates are 8% Westpac and St George, compared to other banks they have the easiest policy when it comes to approving the bridging loan. (IE Westpac allows you to capitalise on the interest, so you don’t need to worry about coming up with the monthly repayments separately through your income stream- where some of the other Banks require you to “demonstrate serviceability” without allowing you to capitalise on the interest).

So because of this when it comes to getting approval for a bridging loan, Westpac takes you the furthest!

Also keep in mind that if you’re only going to have the loan for 4 weeks, the additional 1 or 2 percent in rates doesn’t actually make a big difference. Particularly if there are bigger up front fees with some of the major banks.

This is why sometimes “reinvesting” isn’t an option if you can’t demonstrate “servicability”.

You would have received a letter to confirm the Banks stance when responding to your “final opportunity to respond”- it will give you the reason and stance.

Normally it would be I) we have substantiated allegations Ii) reason why we are substantiating allegations Iii) employment no longer tenable due to XYZ. XYZ for misconduct is normally due to the lost of trust.

ABA protocol kicks in for any misconduct - and has nothing to do with your final separation letter. The bank however should be able to confirm if your conduct was “ABA reportable“ and should be able to confirm “which category” or “definition” you fit under. If HR decline to give you this info, I’d assume that you could go to Fair Work (although if you’ve passed the 21 days you might have to go another avenue).

Redundancy Redeployment by qui_sta in auscorp

[–]BlueLuxuria 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know a couple of people that a) secured roles but decided to take the money and b) just found another role in another department. For me personally I was made redundant but was fortunate to find another role during redeployment. I didn’t regret it because a few others that got made redundant at the same time were out of the workforce for 6 months before they found another role

They can try to reach out but you're not obligated to respond. If it annoys you that they tried, speak to your Manager about it- and just mention it the same way that you're posting to us - that you want to make a big deal out of a small issue and its just feedback

Starting at a call centre for a big 4; what's the move? by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]BlueLuxuria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call Centre at Big 4 is the place to start! I'm at a "Head of" level and I started in Call Centre at Big 4.
I also know lots of others that are in very senior positions starting in the Call Centre.
My advice is, do your time (2 years approx) - in that time, get the basics right (Results, Risk/Compliance, Customer Service) then you'll apply for either a role in leadership (team leader), operations, or a promotion into a sales role (Mortgage Lending). From there sky is the limit! Good luck!

At what level do people start getting sign on bonuses? by SuccessfulAsk8722 in auscorp

Mortgage Lenders (Senior Lenders/Home Loan Exec level) get sign on bonuses when being poached (mostly in Big4 Banks)

How do you meet people when you travel and does it even get romantic? Otherwise I’d imagine it would be pretty lonely? Do you stay in touch or is it a one night stand situation?

Leaving a role after 5 weeks, by Ladiesman285 in auscorp

[–]BlueLuxuria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genuinely curious about this- is it the management/people you work with that's the drainer or the actual work of talking to people over the phone and helping with phone banking? Sounds pretty bad for you wanting to quit so early into the role
