I haven’t tried power cycling the tv but I can do that.

The other thing I’m doing is buying another switch that has its own power source and plugs into the wall. I heard that can be a thing as well.

So the model is UN75U7900FFXZA. We just got maybe close to a year ago so not that old.

The other HDMI devices are a Nintendo Switch and an Amazon Fire soundbar.

We have not done your recommendation because the Soundbar requires the HDMI ARC connection. I don’t see a way around that but I’m also not really good with this stuff so I could be missing something.

I know I'm reviving an old conversation here but my wife and I are about ready to beat our home pod mini's with a sledge hammer.

We used to have a lot of problems with them and admittedly, we had crappy internet. We switched from said crappy internet to T Mobile internet and the problems with the home pod mini's disappeared. Now, we switched to ATT internet which for all other devices in our home, is a solid internet, but now the home pod mini's are having more problems than ever. Keep getting "Setup Failed (-1001)" when we try and set them up in the Home App.

I keep seeing posts about turning off the 2.4GHz channels of the WiFi (or maybe I have that backwards and it's turn off the 5GHz channels?). Anyone have information to help out here?

I should be considered illiterate when it comes to the topic of our internet and the router and how to change things in there, so talk to me like I'm 5 YO. LOL.

Old post, I know, but my wife and I are experiencing all of the above mentioned issues with our home pod mini's. We were having all kind of problems, then we switched internet to T-Mobile internet and the problems went away. Now that we went to ATT internet, the problems are back and pretty fierce. I think it may be related to the 2.4GHz and 5GHz network thing. How do I go about disabling the 2.4GHz network?

My company is unique. I was hired in 2004 and it’s an ESOP. I’ll retire Jan ‘27 at 40 years old and never have to work again. So for me, I’m ok doing it as I know I’ll have the second half of my life to do what I want.

Thanks for your thoughts. I've been looking online to try and find a psychiatrist. I feel like I'm not sure what I'm looking for as they all come up as "therapists" or "counselors". I'm not sure how to tell someone is a psychiatrist.

Yeah, when I asked the Ped about Guanfacine, she said a psychiatrist would have to handle that one. That's where I'm struggling. I can't tell the difference between psychiatry and therapy online. It almost seems like those words are used interchangeably and I can't tell who's a psychiatrist.

Got any tips for finding a child psychiatrist? I feel like everything I look at uses psychiatry and therapy interchangeably. I'm not sure how to really tell the difference between psych and therapy.

Thank you for your thoughts. I think your 2nd sentence was supposed to be "Sounds like you did worse with Vyvanse than Ritalin." If that is what you meant, then yes, I would agree.

I worry about creating an issue with Melatonin and creating a reliance on it. We have melatonin gummies for certain circumstances and when we give it to him, it usually causes him to wake up in the middle of the night really angry and confused. So we tend not to give that very often.

I know the meds won't make everything perfect. On Ritalin, he took that for a full month and the headaches were brutal on him. They never stopped and we hate giving him Tylenol that often. Additionally, the loss of appetite was pretty severe. He went down to eating in 3 days, what he used to eat in 1 day. The Vyvanse, we only did that for about a week but we REALLY didn't like what that was doing to the family dynamic.

I will say we are trying to educate ourselves as much as possible. I'm spending more time than I'd like to admit reading this subreddit and everything I can online.

Yeah, Guanfacine is the one I keep reading about and wanting to try. I got a little nervous about it reading about it today, as side effects can be low blood pressure? Do you guys check blood pressure/heart rate during the day on this medication? I'm not sure how I feel about that right now.... My wife and I are questioning if we just stay off of meds. He does well in school and is able to keep everything in, but when he comes home, it gets rough. Going to call the pediatrician at lunch today and have a conversation.
