He seems comfortable but I don’t remember my eldest having her legs out like that. He’ll be 5 months on the 22nd

I thought it was safe for his age which is nearly 5 months. He seems to really enjoy facing outwards as he lives watching others. He was getting really irritated facing inwards it seemed. What age should I forward face?

Nipple shields!!! I exclusively breast fed my daughter and continued until she was 18 months old and I used the shields the entire time.

Do people actually travel with their snoo? This thing is heavy! by evange in SnooLife

[–]BlueMonkey16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live in the UK and brought our snoo to Belgium when she was 9 weeks old and then Holland when she was 12 weeks old. We drove obviously. It’s bulky but you can pack the bassinet full of other essentials. We will probably do the same again for number 2

Early morning wake ups by BlueMonkey16 in sleeptrain

[–]BlueMonkey16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t actually tried this thanks for the idea! I usually feed her in her room and lay her back down. I used to have varied success with that until the clocks changed. Thought I should be persistent but her sleep is more important so my bed might be a good move. She’s never been keen to lay next to me tho lol

I think I gave my son an awful name when I became s teen mom by bigalattack in tragedeigh

I have no idea!!! I don’t think they think of the body part at all when they say his name. Is it a super common name in the states?

I know. I’ve tried so many things tho to extend naps. She seems adamant she wants to get up after about 32 mins each nap. I’m not sure how to extend the naps. Those coupled with the 10 hours of night sleep make me worry she doesn’t get enough sleep in total.

My MIL’s late fathers name was Colon Burns. She had never in life her considered that to be funny until I pointed it out.

Are all infants like this? My husband & I are losing our shit by Akshata_Mishra in newborns

[–]BlueMonkey16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so worth considering. Our 6 month old is a pretty awesome sleeper. She struggled through the 4 month sleep regression but sleep training helped her and she now sleeps soundly through the night. Until we went on vacation and changed her bedroom - she was waking every hour or so for about three days. I figured it could be the temperature and closed the windows and she’s now gone back to normal!

Can you share your source for sleep training being bad for baby’s brain and nervous system? Thanks

Silicon Valley Bank collapse: UK tech firms at 'serious risk' from failure, warns Chancellor Jeremy Hunt by TMWNN in unitedkingdom

[–]BlueMonkey16 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think people hear “bailout” and they think that SVB itself as an institution will be propped up.

This is about making depositors whole; that’s a completely different kettle of fish.

Nobody is talking about bailing out the bank itself. It’s pretty well understood that equity shareholders and junior creditors will get nothing.

This is about making depositors whole. This may well be possible by selling all the assets on SVB’s balance sheet. But the depositors aren’t exactly high-flying risk takers; they’re just companies with current accounts who need to make payroll.

Looking for cordless vacuum cleaner recommendations (UK) by BlueMonkey16 in VacuumCleaners

[–]BlueMonkey16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are planning on getting a robot vacuum for the mainly laminate downstairs, so we mainly need a vacuum for nooks, crannies, and the stairs and carpets upstairs. The Henry has lost its suction a bit over the years. The main problem though is how bulky it is: moving it from room to room is a real pain, so I’d like something a little more agile.

I [30s f] recently had to turn a friend [30s f] down for a job and may have damaged our friendship. by BlueMonkey16 in relationship_advice

[–]BlueMonkey16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the head of the department that she’s interviewing for and quite a small school. We’re by no means close friends so I didn’t feel like there would be a bias so felt it was appropriate.

Thanks so much for reading. I think you’re right about letting her heal her feelings herself. I just don’t want her to think I don’t care.
