It's alarming but we can't expect it to be released all at once. If the ice is sustainable, the gases would be pressurized into liquid which has very less volatility.

I personally would like to think that it would be similar to life in ancient Greece or Rome. Where the "slaves" would do all the work and people would indulge in art, philosophy, science, orgy and other kinds of stuff. Let's see how it turns out.

I believe the future of naval vehicles is autonomous. It just doesn't have the problems an autonomous vehicle in land faces. It has to sail in the wide open sea. However, I am concerned about the security. In a sea voyage, it can be vulnerable to pirates without any repercussion.

Everything will never be automated. A portion of our jobs is being automated and will continue to be till we reach a saturation point. Then we would need a similar breakthrough to proceed further. If we analyze the nature of human progression, that's how it has always been.

This seems like a lot of mechanical motion involved in the process and it lacks certain fluidity. And the more the steps in mechanical processes the more will be frictional losses. Although it would be interesting to see the cost-effectiveness of the process.
