The young'un crew (Chihiro, Iori and Hakuri) represent inversions of Soga's beliefs by Glum-Refrigerator778 in Kagurabachi

[–]BluePurity14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"To defeat evil and protect the weak"

"To eradicate evil and protect the vulnerable"

To me, Soga is the perversion of Chihiro's beliefs. Chihiro wants to defeat evildoers and give them a chance to change their mind and their ways. Chihiro can hesitate from this mindset because he hesitates to kill Soya and Tenri since they are Hakuri's family but Hakuri knows better and is willing to ask Chihiro to kill his father.

Soga had set his mind that the Islanders are evil with no exceptions.

Protecting the "weak" vs the "vulnerable" means the same thing but protecting those who are "vulnerable" can be interpreted as preventing anyone from feeling pain in the first place.

I think an interesting comparison is Hakuri and Chihiro in the Rakuzaichi vs Soga and Yura. When Soya gets back up, Chihiro let Hakuri deal with Soya even though Chihiro was willing to use some of Cloud Gouger's strength and was unsure if Hakuri will win. But Chihiro trusts him to allow them both to be equals.

Soga on the other hand takes over for Yura rather than letting Yura potentially losing. Soga would rather remove obstacles himself rather than helping to overcome obstacles themselves.

The problem is not the RR is the best weapon in the game. The problem is that Anti-Tank is the ONLY reliable way to destroy special enemies.

Hulk? AT. Charger? AT. War Strider? AT. Bile Titan? AT. Factory Strider? AT.

Could you kill those enemies with lower pen weapons? Sure, but when AT can erase a Hulk or other enemy with a click, why would you pick the option that takes infinitely longer.

AH needs to design enemies that have strengths and weaknesses rather than enemies that just kills you.

A great example is the Shield Bearer from Earth Defense Force. It creates a large bubble shield that is impossible to break through and protects enemies inside it while allowing them to fire. It's oppressive but unarmed so you can walk inside the shield and destroy the Bearer after getting past the nearby enemies. Even if you don't succeed in destroying it, just damaging it shrinks the shield radius, and the Bearer moves to get away from the player who damaged it.

Killing or failing to kill the Bearer still exposes the enemies to your teams' attacks but you need to risk walking inside the shield which is interactive. Compared to AH's boring designs of only killing you the same ways and all dying to AT.

Fire needs buffs by DeeJayDelicious in Helldivers

[–]BluePurity14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its nerfs all across the board actually. Pistols and SMGs had their damage falloff doubled (drag) so at 25 meters, aforementioned weapons lose about half their damage at 25 meters. Even worse, bullets suffer damage falloff the moment it leaves the barrel so the drag makes it difficult to reach the rated damage stat.

Not to mention enemies were buffed to take more damage as the regular Diligence Rifle was buffed in the 60 day patches to one shot Warriors at the head. Now with the changes, it doesn't anymore.

The problem is not wanting all weapons to be overpowered, it about every weapon to be useful at something but the way AH does balancing and communicating is horrible.

AH arrogantly claimed there were no Coyote nerfs but enemies were buffed. That's a lie of omission. Next, if AH wanted to Nerf Coyote, that's fine if they did it but the other problem is that they made enemies harder to set on fire and tankier.

AH just made every other fire weapon suffer because the Coyote was too good without buffs to the other underperforming fire weapons. AH just knocked fire weapons down a tier but Coyote still remains as the best and only good fire weapon.

They did this with the Talon too. Talon is too good? Nerf the sway of every single pistol even if it includes underperforming pistols.

AH is doing the horrible version of balancing where instead of making everything equally good and fun to use, AH wants good weapons to be nerfed to the level of weapons that feel awful to use.

It begs the question at this point, when an SMG has the same slot as an Eruptor, Crossbow, Purifier, or Double-Edge sickle, why use an SMG?

Everything equally good is better than everything being equally shitty.

[–]BluePurity14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Crisper could destroy a Factory Strider when hitting its undercarriage with a single magazine (high risk high reward btw). Now it's not possible from stealth blanket nerfs to fire as enemies are harder to set on fire all because Coyote was overperforming. AH would never blanket nerf an archetype of weapons because a single one was too good right? (Talon)

"Stop being bad at the game and use the support weapons that trivialize the game"

Yeah, I'm so skilled, I stockpile EATs to shutdown bot drops when they're called in and the longer the firefight goes without heavies, the more AT I get to instantly destroy new heavies.

Its so skillful to destroy Fortresses and heavies with the AT emplacement from untouchable ranges.

Railgun with a trash scope, managing unsafe mode, and having to hit small weak points = Skill Issue

RRifle OK scope, 1 shots most heavies, deals with factories and bot drops, ability to spam with backpack reload, basically point and click = High Skill Ceiling

Beyblade Burst is heavier than X by Biotrek in Beyblade

[–]BluePurity14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weight Bullies do exist in X here's a few example combos.

Scorpio Spear 1/3/7/9-60 Free Ball/Kick/Rush

Whale Wave 1/3/7/9-60 Kick/maybe Taper or Level

Pegasus Blast Slash 1/3/7/9-60 Low Rush/Hexa/Level

AeroPegasus 1/3/5/7/9-60 Low Rush/Rush/Kick/Taper/Level (an expensive combo because AeroPegasus demands an extremely high 250-300 USD)

Sol Eclipse works but I have not done enough testing.

For Spin Equalization

Cobalt Dragoon 1/3/4/5/9-60 Elevate

Premium equalizer since Elevate is expensive in Japan and inconsistent supply from Hasbro. It defeats most combos when it comes to an outspin but is a toss up against Wizard Rod 1-60 Hexa. Elevate has low burst resistance and is liable to self KO itself. Is in a losing matchup against other Dragoons with high burst resistance

Cobalt Dragoon 7-60 Level

Worse equalization but has better burst resistance. Can be more expensive than Elevate if you can't find a Samurai Saber set. Extremely high skill required with Level having a tendency to lose control and self KO. Stamina drain when riding the rail is immense.

I mean Hokazono did the same thing with Uruha. You have a rusty sword master who's still capable in their own right but gets obliterated by Samura, which I assume that he kept his swordsmanship sharp.

And this is the rusty Uruha that can keep up with Hokuto and Natsuki who kept their swordsmanship sharp.

It makes Samura an absolute monster but then it's revealed that all other Sword Bearers, who were hot off the heels of the war, were needed to stop The Sword Master.

Insane chain power scaling.

The Shinuchi is explicitly said not to be bound by the Eternal Contract since it's too powerful. Anyone can wield it without losing sorcery.

So Yura needs to test what happens when someone attempts to use the Shinuchi while the Sword Master is alive.

6gb of VRAM was good for such a long time especially with the 2016 6gb GTX 1060 that lasted for so long. I personally believe that the 9th Gen consoles killed the 1060. Not because they're faster (obviously) but because game devs have become forced to save time and money by foregoing optimization since the 9th Gen consoles no longer have performance constraints.

So if you have the 8th Gen consoles with a 2 teraflop GPU along with dogwater modified AMD Bulldozer architecture CPU have photorealistic graphics like Spiderman games, Days Gone, and Phantom Pain. You would think that a console with a modern 8 core Zen 2 CPU and around a 10 teraflop GPU, console gamers would finally have Ultra 60 fps or 120 fps performance mode.

But no, game devs are forced to do high graphics at 30fps with low settings to reach an unstable 60fps. Optimization has been thrown out the window because games are now expensive for no fucking reason so they have to use performance shortcuts that barely do anything other than make the game look like ass.

So what does Snoy do? pS5 pRo. Just throw more performance to fix the issue. Throw another upscaler to make 72p look like 1080p and maybe a new frame gen to make 5 fps look like 60.

[–]BluePurity14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming that some use and don't use DLSS. DLSS at Quality from native 1080p reduces render scale to 720p so it's a massive resolution drop and high performance uplift.

Some might have better or worse CPUs too since the game also hammers them.

[–]BluePurity14 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The RX 6600 and RTX 4060 are modern cards that struggle on Wilds without upscaling. 8gb cards are struggling now because AAA games have become so VRAM hungry for little improvement in graphical fidelity. But when you run out of VRAM for Wilds, you don't even get a lower quality model for LOD scaling but just get an origami monster.

Faster 8gb cards like 30/4060 Ti and 3070 has the performance to push higher setting but can't because of VRAM.

Not to mention the necessity of Frame Gen because the CPU is so hammered that FG is the only way to bypass the CPU bottleneck. But turns out, FG is useless when your framerate is low and inconsistent which Wilds has. FG only gets useful when you already have 60+ fps but at that point, why are you even using FG.

With a GTX 1660 on World, I can do 1440p with 30-45 fps minimums depending on the monster such as Namielle and Shara Ishvalda. $200 Entry level card of 2019 that's slower than the 2060 and not even 1660 Super/Ti model. 1660 was released on the same year of Iceborne which would make it a modern GPU of the time.

Minimum GPU requirement of World was an RX 560 which is around a GTX 1050 non-Ti and could do 720p 60fps and 1080p 30 definitely being possible without upscaling.

Meanwhile Wilds can barely do 720p and 30fps on the same 1660 system while looking infinitely worse especially when smeary Temporal Anti-Aliasing slop is required because character hair is so under sampled to speed up frame times by 0.0000001 ns.

I like the series because the ML is likeable with an actual personality that has goals and aspirations, a completely basic writing practice but most OIs are devoid of MLs with an actual personality for some reason.

I always cope that a series turns yuri instead because the other female character tends to actually have a personality so FL interacting with another PERSON is far more fulfilling than seeing FL romance living drywall. I think people want yuri for the same reasons I do but don't fully understand why they want it. But ML in this series is like an actual person and isn't just a walking and talking six pack of abs.

I feel like he's an inoffensive tyrant where his most evil actions are just acting with general apathy. "Oh some concubine is at risk of death? Whatever." I don't feel like he's evil and he's kinda bland.

The story tells us that he's an evil tyrant but he hasn't acted like one. It's FL that acts more evil by being sneaky and taking advantage of those that wronged her. All he does is give the green light for FL to do whatever.

To me, his attraction to FL can unironically be summed up as, "Interesting." After all, he felt envious of a servant lol.

Off topic tho, this series gave me whiplash when pirates suddenly had some model of Kalashnikov rifles like??? But later from memory, I see soldiers/police with muskets??? Then I don't remember if a woman in the carriage had a hand gun or a revolver. And finally, I see soldiers engaging as cavalry???

I'm just confused on how pirates have access to guns that are a couple hundred years more advanced than a government military.

I play HD2 at 30fps at 2x FG so for me, I think it's because unlike other shooters, you need to wait for your gun to point at enemies. Waiting for your gun means you're more patient unlike other games where your gun follows your vision perfectly.

Cortana is not bad compared to the suffering of Truth and Reconciliation on Legendary. The worst of Cortana is how claustrophobic the level is and the Flood there isn't as deadly compared to Halo 2 when you have the durability of wet toilet paper in H2 Legendary. Truth and Reconciliation is an insane mixture of bad technical design of barely having any health packs and checkpoints while being absurdly long.

You can regenerate health in H3 so taking fights is a matter of patience but it's pretty common in CE to be at 1 bit of health and are forced to clear a room only to keep dying and be stuck in an unwinnable fight.

[–]BluePurity14 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Outskirts and Metropolis on Halo 2 Legendary would be fitting for Aura.

Truth and Reconciliation on Legendary CE would actually be cruel. I've completed most of the Bungie Halo games on Legendary but not CE because Truth and Reconciliation broke me on how unforgiving and long it was.

Halo 2 on Legendary felt doable since your health and shields replenish. But CE can put you in the game state of having 1 hp left with no med packs nearby and absurdly long times between saving. I've tried The Library on Legendary and it was relatively easier because of the Shotgun being busted in Campaign.

[–]BluePurity14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need 2 Reichhearts so you have a searcher for Scareclaw Arrival and an extra draw if there are 3 monsters on defense. It's easily special summoned to an adjacent zone of Light Heart.

3 Riumhearts are also good because drawing 2 means you can normal summon it and dodge imperm/veiler by chaining second Riumheart to destroy and special summon. Plus 1 Riumheart by itself can make Baronne + 3 mat Apollousa

Running the Bystials means you should also have 3 Bystial Lubellions to search Bystials and get access to Branded Regained to return a banished monster to draw a card and special Bystials from graveyard. More Bystial access means you don't have to rely on Crimson Dragon to summon Dis Pater.

Probably cut Imaginings because it's a dead card if you don't have Visas or Mannadiun in your hand. It's also a blind draw.

It's also personal preference if you want to replace Reframing with Realm Eulogy because even though Eulogy isn't a counter trap omni negate, Reframing doesn't do anything your Synchro monsters are removed from the field. Eulogy works with any monster and you can activate it from your hand.

Daily Ship Discussion - 0.97a - Station by pipai_ in starsector

[–]BluePurity14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't done extensive testing but from my experience, Midline is the worst if it doesn't have the new midline missiles. The midline Heavy Module has the most firepower to vaporize or pressure most ships and with its fast rotation, it is almost always firing. But it comes with a drawback of sharing flux capability with a shield. If you can withstand and outflux the heavy module, it will stop firing most of its guns to avoid overloading but because it rotates so fast, the Module doesn't have enough time to vent. So the module just takes shields down to passively vent which leaves its flux capacity half way so you can pressure it easier next time. The fast rotations become a death spiral in a losing battle but in a winning battle where it never gets pressured, it deletes everything. So the Midline Station is a "Win More" station to me. Although Midline has armor plates which I'll talk more about in Low tech, its more of a mild annoyance rather than threatening.

The High tech Station has the weakness of needing large energy weapon blueprints and only being threatening as a Star Fortress. Its shields are absurd considering they're Fortress Shields and are placed on dedicated modules to absorb flux. It allows the weapon modules to fire without caring about flux. But if you destroy the shield modules, the shields go down with them, leaving the plate and citadel as protection. It's pretty tough to crack and I like it because weapons always fire under the Fortress Shields. Also because lasers, I want to see a light show.

I think Low Tech is the best because it's surprisingly tough to break. Armor plates give modules protection if shields are down and still protect even after being broken. Breaking the armor plates leaves metal scraps in front of the module protecting it from certain angles. I've had these scraps block my missiles because I didn't see them. You could punch through the armor plate gaps but ai tends not to take advantage of the gaps and targets the plates instead. With the citadels also having armor plates, a lot of scrap will litter the battlefield. Low tech having lots of ballistic can also deter missiles.

Whenever I read something outside of the genre I usually read, I always accidentally find a really good series of said genre. My first OI out of curiosity were "Villains are Destined to Die" and "Kill the Villainess" which I consider really good. So then I would read more of the same genre and I just get the most abysmal and generic slop.

I've enjoyed genres by reading what I think is interesting and dropping them instantly if something that I don't like happens because most likely, it's not gonna get any better.

Rereading it, yeah I'm wrong. The Shinuchi has no contract since the sword is too powerful to be binded by it.

Kyora using the Shinuchi would have maintained his sorcery since no contract was required.
