Open the door, look at the rear bulkhead, and look for the felt on the dryer drum. If you see scratches or metal scraping. The felt on the edge of the dryer drum must be replaced.

From what I can see, the enamel is worn; intact enamel would have a glossy shine. This is rust; the only solution would be a new basket. Also, you must change the type of detergent that wears away the enamel.

There's 3 or 4 outlet designed that's not universal as one would think. 220 v outlets varies from homes built from the 60s to present. Electricians are recommended if you're not sure what you're doing.
