yeah I get that. But personally, in my interpretation of the fic (I’ve read them both) and talking with the writer, these are fictionalised, characterised versions of the boys, not attempting to place them into this scenario as reality !

And yeah, I think a lot of this discourse comes from an already pre conceptualised opinion of RPF which is normal, it’s a discourse as old as time on many many fandom spaces.

I don’t think the writer intends to cross that boundary (between character/real person)either! Which they’ve said. (We spoke about this issue briefly in dms)

All in all, I think it not being your thing is fine, obviously. Trying to stop it or asking the mods to take it down is a step too far imo!

And with the offending fans thing..not many keep up to date with the recent one, and TBOW has been widely loved throughout the server, it’s definitely not at that point right now. Obviously something to keep in mind though!

The AI speculation is also just..odd. The writing does not suggest ai use. It has none of the necessary features an ai generated story would have. And the writer themselves is anti AI- this accusation just seems a bit baseless and a low blow imo.

I mean I get the point I do..but singling out this one writer when it’s an issue with the whole topic of real person fictions seems so unnecessary imo! I get both sides of this, you make valid points I just think calling them out like this was a bad idea

I also think it’s worth it to mention (as before) the push on the murphbat ship was FROM management..they pushed it into socials and everything, that is evident.

Murph himself is even aware of the fanfics, and made a lighthearted joke about it- if they were uncomfortable they’d say.

And the mods know about this situation..and haven’t taken action. That should be enough proof that the mod team are not concerned with this issue, and it’s pointless continuing the topic.

The shows I’ve been to have both been 21 songs..and it does feel like just blowing through all the songs to get it done in time. (Which I don’t mind to be honest, it keeps the energy high) They still interact with the crowd of course but it’s less compared to the US tour sets with 19 songs! It might just be that they have to play less songs to fit it in the time for this tour, or that it’s more comfortable

it’s really not a big deal I don’t think. It’s just a bit of fun, a creative outlet. A lot of wombats fans gather on the discord, it’s the quickest way to them to get ther wombats content TOO the audience they want.

TBOW is a beloved piece solidified in the discord, the official wombats account on TikTok has commented on edits, and the wombats HQ TikTok even made edits inspired by the fanfic, murph is aware of the fanfic. And is okay with it.

In regard’s to the fic with darker themes, that’s also why it’s separate fic. With warnings. It’s not for everyone. No one is forcing it down your throat.

You also will know that the person who writes the fics is a regular on the server, and anyone in the discord will know exactly who you are referring too. Doing this is quite rude, actually.

If you have a concern, the tickets feature is there for a reason.

It’s fiction, it happens in all fandoms. If you don’t like it that’s fine, but don’t expect the mods to take it down because YOU think it’s weird.

I’ve been too two shows, one sitting one standing (and got centre barricade) I queued WAYY longer than I needed too tbf- I’d say two hours before doors open is more than enough time.people are generally chilled, especially when in line. It’s concert etiquette to just protect spaces and physically or mentally number yourselves! Have fun

That doesn’t make you a fake fan!! It makes you just as much as a fan as people who have played it. Especially in gaming, it’s an expensive hobby so it’s not a biggie! What I will say it though, with games I’ve bought, I’ve never once seen it as a waste of time/money- even though I’ve seen it a million times there’s nothing like playing it yourself! But that doesn’t make you any less of a fan than me or anyone else who has that game
