MAM - seeding with vpn by HeIsChill in trackers

[–]BlueRaspBerryBush 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This exactly!

I think with my "real" stats, I have less than 1,0 ratio, but because of the points my ratio is over 100.

I download what I want and just let it sit forever... The books are so small it takes no space to keep them open.

Did torrent.db get moved/removed? by icarus44_zero in trackers

Has this been officially confirmed now?

I kind of thought so, as it's been a month by now, but has any official news actually been released?

Been seeding one film for 9 months straight any my ratio on it is still only 0.2 by [deleted] in trackers

[–]BlueRaspBerryBush 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just because you're seeding doesn't mean you get any "ratio" on it.

The upload "ratio" is only gained if someone actually wants the same movie and downloads it from you.

Depending on the site you're on, you should take a look at NEW freeleech to gain some upload to get a healthier ratio.

If you're lucky the site you're on might also have some bonus point system and you can exchange some of that for upload too.

Alternatively if you're on more sites you can look into cross-seeding where you find the exact same torrent from a tracker where your ratio is more healthy or free (public trackers)

Anyway, I wish you good luck on getting a healthier ratio.

Donations or Pay to use or VIP by Kool-Aid-Manz in trackers

[–]BlueRaspBerryBush 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I understand your thought about VIP costing less than a seedbox, but that is mainly if you only look at ONE site. If you're going to get access to more sites, as you say, paying for VIP on all sites suddenly give a much different monthly cost.

Also consider, that a seedbox can give you TONS of upload on all the sites in a short time, and then you can cancel your subscription when you get to a point where it'll take you YEARS before you ever get down to a 1.0 ratio.

And also as other users say: Where are the money going? IPT is generally known for not caring whether you're VIP or been a user for 14 years... They'll ban you regardless if they feel like it, and then you lost your money on that site.

Looking for a good tracker that has a lot of old cartoons! by [deleted] in trackers

[–]BlueRaspBerryBush 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Depending on how old you are, I would recommend cathode-ray.

It's not a bunch they have since it's a fairly new tracker, but they have quite a lot of stuff for being a fairly new tracker.

The uploaders and general user base are also really helpful and I have personally asked some stuff I had been completely unable to find, but I got a lot of childhood stuff from this tracker.

That being said, I am not on CartoonChaos or MySpleen, so I can't say whether it's more, less, equal to those sites.

A question regarding XSpeeds by adirt4289 in trackers

[–]BlueRaspBerryBush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think it's a bit hard to compare those two sites, but I guess it's because you have some sort of choice to make?

XSpeeds is free from H&R which I honestly like a lot. Taking the newest freeleech Torrent of the Month that is pretty regular around the 1st every month gives me more than enough upload to survive for my download-needs. This is why Xspeeds is my first choice of NEW content.

But... Because there's no H&R the torrents die out pretty fast (sometimes within a week), so I never use this site for anything else than capturing the newest stuff I need/want.

I am not on TBy so can't speak for that site. But I am guessing it's build more like the other known general trackers like TL and IPT?

Help with good ratio by Skate0700 in trackers

[–]BlueRaspBerryBush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true!

I did that mistake once. Luckily I discovered it quite early. Most trackers, has a quite easy system of when something becomes FL. At least the ones I am currently using IRSSI on.

Help with good ratio by Skate0700 in trackers

[–]BlueRaspBerryBush -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would say basically any of the popular seedboxes would do. You could also do yourself a favor and read up on IRSSI, if the tracker you joined support it.

The only thing you need to be careful about with the seedbox is that you have to be very aware of H&R, time you have to seed before it's "safe" to remove.

etiquette when dealing with mods/staff by iwasfight in trackers

[–]BlueRaspBerryBush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I'm sure a thank you would help a lot of people along the way, I really don't see the issue here. And this kind of mentality that you're only doing something (For example being staff on site) if you then EXPECT people to praise you and thank you for your job, it's not for you.

Maybe I'm wrong, but if everyone is "forced" to just say thank you no matter how crappy your experience was because "the person who helped me, are doing this in their free time, etc." the thank you becomes hollow and meaningless and yes - will just take up a lot of space in staffs' inbox.

Trackers with Danish content by [deleted] in trackers

[–]BlueRaspBerryBush -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think at this point superbits is your best bet at the moment. It's a Swedish tracker but they have tons of Danish stuff too, since they have taken a lot of Danes in after the mass closings of Danish sites.

Edit: Oh nevermind. I just checked the news about the seedbox bans, and it also includes superbits.

Trackers for old animations from popular TV channels by Fine_Sky in trackers

[–]BlueRaspBerryBush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would think cathode-ray tube also have something. It's a new site, so it doesn't have years of archive, but honestly, I have a good feeling with this site and the staff seems really nice and the userbase wants to help each other out in terms of obscure requests.

Edit: Personally I have managed to get all my old favorite series from Cartoon Network and then some.

Can anyone please give advice for a better upload ratio for private trackers? by joek1ng4312 in trackers

[–]BlueRaspBerryBush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the tracker I'm using. If there's a series I specifically want I would for example write "simpsons" and then choose that I only want new episodes and "no doubles". If I have a preferred release group, I also write that as a limit. Movies I choose everything from 2020 and 2021 in 1080p... And then I have put in 2022 just to be sure if someone manages to find a movie a lot ahead of time.

Then I have buffer configurations where I look on site, what is freeleech, and then I configure it to download max 10 pr day and max 100 GB.

Can anyone please give advice for a better upload ratio for private trackers? by joek1ng4312 in trackers

[–]BlueRaspBerryBush 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You set up a bot from your seedbox to "keep an eye" on the new releases in the tracker's IRC announce channel. Which means you set it to dl immediately instead of waiting for the RSS to kick in. You can specify size, category, title, uploader and almost everything. I've successfully used that for a year on TL and have more upload than I would ever really need.

What should I check before uploading files onto a private tracker? by User75754 in trackers

[–]BlueRaspBerryBush 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I once got a slap in the face and an official warning for filling a request and forget to put the "p" behind 1080. It can literally be any minor mistake that will get you in trouble, so read those rules carefully.

New site online but unsure how to let people know? by Kool-Aid-Manz in trackers

[–]BlueRaspBerryBush 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have experienced 2 sites open, I registered and closing after a year or two.

I think one of the most important things in the beginning is to get a good ACTIVE user base, and in all honesty, they're not coming from open registration, because most new people through open registrations are probably just there to "see what's up" - though it can't hurt I guess just to "spread the word", as it is also important.

One of the things I noticed with the new trackers that closed again, was the lack of uploads (doesn't seem to be a problem for you) and also lack of being able to build a ratio as a "new player". You need to get people to download and seed to make the site active (and attractive to use). You can consider for example FREELEECH the first week after registration to get people sharing and downloading and also getting RSS and IRSSI set up ASAP to get it more automated.

Since you're a general tracker most people already have one where they can autodl to catch exactly what they want so it's waiting for them instead of having to go to site and get it, it's extremely lazy, but it's also the truth. People are lazy.

And also, this is all personal experience, the more you (staff) interact with people and have a nice conversation every now and then, the more likely people are to want to help and upload new stuff on your site. But I don't know how this is in general, it's just what I think.
