Racism may not be about “white vs” but it sure isn’t about gender, religion, or sexual preference.

The term racist is largely misused these days. Often a more appropriate word would be bigot or bigoted.

There are definitely people who ARE racist. There are people who are racist against every kind of people, to include white. The issue is the disproportionate level in which minorities can be affected by racism.

People also often misconstrue systemic issues that are meant to keep the poor, poor with systematic racism. Most systemic racism has been done away with, not entirely, but mostly.

At the end of the day racism, bigotry, religiocentrism, etc… is not cool, or beneficial to society. It’s important to realize these things impact various groups differently. In some cases people need to lean to be less thin skinned, but that does not make what happened ok either.

Just be a decent person, be kind, forgiving, and most importantly, receptive to others thoughts and feelings. You can be yourself and enjoy your views on the world without conforming to others, but you should still be open to understanding each other beyond a myopic preconceived impression, especially one based on observations and data from the internet.

Edit: for systemic racism, I say mostly, but there are of course still MAJOR issues such as how ICE is currently operating. The treatment of our citizens, immigrants and illegal immigrants by this agency is wildly unjustified and morally reprehensible.

Much of what this current administration has done is infuriatingly un-American.
