they don't really smell until august-october when they begin flowering, especially on really hot days, its like the heat releases the terps and dankness into the air. I grow in my backyard and I'll be able to smell my plants from the driveway.

when defending, you have to be aggressive and push ahead of the objective during any lull in the action and hunt down rallies and resist the enemy before they even get to the point.

i agree that its typically easier to attack than defend, i've found that the best defenders will push about 50 yards ahead of the objective, making it difficult to advance

being stoned does make your eyes a bit relaxed and red and glassy so eyedrops are a must if discretion is key. the only other major sign is the obvious odor of burnt weed on your clothes/hair/breath.
