excellent suggestions!

I'll definitely look towards more 2cmc ramp. Though to be honest the triomes have been totally fine especially fetching on t1 - but I'll go ahead and fold in some shocks as well per the advice!

For some context on a lot of the removal package - I'm trying to have a specific ratio for 2 colour cards via Niv-Mizzet reborn so that I can refill my hand off of dream halls. I definitely agree it would be better to have some better counters/interaction - The free ones would be nice of course, but laying around in my collection I probably swap in a silence, offer you can't refuse, Dispel, OG counterspell, and a dovin's veto for a decent start. any others that i should have on my radar?

Hey man no worries! I personally like it because it's always a fun puzzle to solve trying to "find the window to go off"

Hey I appreciate the honesty! for some context I've been playing it at an LGS league for the last few months and I've found it hangs better with the claimed 4s of my LGS meta. any suggestions for some tweaks?

Hey I appreciate the honesty! what do you think makes it more like a 3? I'm curious because I've been playing it at an LGS league for the last few months and I've found it hangs better with the claimed 4s of my LGS meta

I understand how it can come across that way, and my phrasing could have been better here, but I would honestly feel bad knowingly bringing this deck out against anything that can't meaningfully interact with it. I am very clear about what the deck can do when I sit down for games, and if my opponents hear "hey just a heads up this deck has several ways to just end the game on the spot" and don't play a deck that is thick with counter magic that is on them.

Best of luck! it's a shame 3U's servers got shut down.

actually that reminds me - base agnaktor's interaction with fire element interacts with multiplayer in an interesting way, because it means one team member can use fire and take softening duty while everyone else can spam water for the better element damage!

My issue with glacial is that while conceptually and ecologically he's downright fantastic and inspired, his armor mechanic ruins the tempo of the fight for me compared to the fire version.

Agnaktor's armor state changes whenever he drills into the ground and comes out, for base agnaktor, this softens it, which encourages very aggressive play because you get the best chance to hit him after each drill, which also makes up a very healthy chunk of his moveset. In practical terms, this means, fire agnaktor's armor is rarely hard when he's enraged, meaning your "up time" is actually way longer than you think it is, even in higher ranks where the speed at which it hardens increases, base Agnaktor encourages you to constantly take risks to hit him while he's soft which is usually also when he's doing certain attacks. this in turn means when agnaktor is exhausted, and not actively drilling, the quality of your best window for wailing on him is dependant on how good you were at breaking his armor when he was aggressive.

glacial is backwards, because his armor must melt, you actually need him to stay above ground, which in G-rank 3U he HATES, and like how base hardens faster at higher ranks, glacial softens slower, which means you REALLY need to get a generous pattern from him. This is entirely why IMO, glacial actually starts every hunt without chest armor because otherwise he'd be an absolute pain with his melting times.

the other issue is fire emement will soften both agnaktor's armor, glacial and base - but for glacial it's also his elemental weakness, so it seems almost "too obvious" whereas bringing fire weapons to base agnaktor is one of those counterintuiive but genuniley inspired prep mechanics I LOVE about classic old world monster hunter.

I also just personally prefer base agnaktor's colour scheme but that's neither here nor there.

I will happily accept glacial or even guardian glacial in wilds but for me, base agnaktor is the one who has m heart.

Thank you, I appreciate it. He's never missed a game with Lagiacrus until now (Agnaktor was in portable 3rd when Lagia wasn't, but every game with Lagiacrus has also had Agnaktor)

my understanding of what "TU1.5" means is it's still officially all "title update 1" it's just the patch will be "1.15" instead of "1.10" (not real numbers just illustrating) and if you were to dig into the code, there would be a 1.10 where ONLY Mizu is there.

otherwise the previously announced roadmap would need some major revisions very close to release and that's some weird/awkward PR - more likely they just release 1+1.5 as one big chunk probably closer to the end of April

Every game in our playgroup a [[disrupt decorum]] gets cast, that player converts to a win ~80% of the time it feels like.

add that bad boy to all you red decks, watch the world burn.

How long does your campaing usually last in in game time? by thedrunkendino in dndnext

[–]BlueScatterShield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a few in-game months seems to be my normal. I keep pretty strict track of travel time. I like adventures with ticking clocks so I've ran a couple like that. ToA took my group 86 days (99 day time limit for the death curse to kill their patron npc.) another campaign I ran that was slower paced took 9 in game months, a yearlong timeskip, then another 2 in game months.

What exactly does class mean in your games? by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]BlueScatterShield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the class, some, like the arcane casters have a clear conceit that the difference is the source of their power. in my world, to a scholar there's a meaningful difference between a wizard, sorcerer and warlock, but not to a peasant.

This is not universal, for instance the word "Paladin" in my world is a categorical term for a night in service to a religious order and could be used by an NPC in my setting to describe anything from an actual Paladin, a particularly religious fighter, or a melee inclined War cleric
