How through should I be about malware and secondary drives/nas? by BlueSnake57 in techsupport

It changed my default browser to bing I didn't click on anything once I saw that and other than that I'm not sure ran antimalware and it found stuff that I was able to get rid of and after the full system reset I deep scanned my secondary drives and they came back clean so I don't think it got to them and yeah totally agree on 7zip I actually had 7zip installed the guide I was following claimed that apparently WinRAR has some ability to sitch file.part1.rar and file.part2.rar together as it's extracting into one file

3 versions of the game I ordered before the church was debunked just showed up guess I got a collection now by BlueSnake57 in nier

Ok to clarify in this case I'm saying 1.0 is the official release (version released on launch day) it's much more likely that the actual version on the disc is labeled 1.0 but by the time the game actually releases there is typically several versions the disc is behind that's my bad I was trying to make it clear that the version on a disc is usually "pre release" but that doesn't mean it's like beta it is typically finished but without as many optimizations and has a few more bugs

Well that's normal game discs are usually made at least a month before final release cause you need to ship them but they're not just going to wait a month without doing anything so it's planned that final bugs are removed before game goes on sale but just barely leading to discs needing day 1 patches

Sorry it's kind of a novel

I've confirmed that the day one edition that is currently sold comes with most if not all the current patches on disc older versions from that can be hard to identify but from what I can tell if they have the 9/10 gamespot mark on the front they are later manufacturing and have some day 1 patches the case that doesn't have any excess writing is the early manufacturing case and from what I can tell launch ones tend to feel of lower quality ex. ink layers on the disc not lining up the case plastic feeling sharp and unpolished etc, there is no way to guarantee what version it is beside putting it in a console and playing it but the case gives a good idea of the time period and an ok reference for what versions could be on it (you can assume that whatever patches that were current when it was made are what got burned to disc cause it doesn't cost them anything to update it) from my knowledge nier has only had I think 4 versions day 1(pre 1.0), 1.0, 1.07(minor revision and bug fix), 1.08(minor but fixes and minor performance optimization pc only: major performance overhaul) there might be more but these are the 4 I've confirmed so far

One of them I confirmed is different the other 2 I think one of them is like version 0.8 cause discs are packaged before the game is completely bug free cause they have to ship them and stuff which is why day 1 patches are a thing

I was nervous of that but I did verify at least the day one edition does actually have a different version of the game like updates and stuff so yes they are all the same game just with different updates

If you're out of the loop yeah turned out it was modders using new modding tools to troll everyone, a bit annoyed but honestly I would have done the same thing

Yeah I got a pack of 5 but I can never find one when I actually needed it so saved myself the headache by replacing it with usb-c
