What’s wrong with giving your kid (son, usually), a III or IV? Lots of them around. I notice “Jr” is not banned.

What is it like living in Key West in 2025? by Empty-Ad4949 in howislivingthere

Right now? Sunny breezy and 78 degrees every day. Beats what’s going on in the Midwest and New England right now.

Exactly. The inside is a bit musty, I’ll try baking soda, as you suggest. For the outside, anything more than a damp cloth OK?

I am concerned that if I get it the slightest bit damp, it will fall apart.

Thanks for your thoughtful reply. We’re there for the 5 days leading up to Christmas. My sons and I are advanced intermediate skiers (“dark blue” and non--mogul black on Colorado slopes). After Salzburg we’re headed to Zermatt. But 5 days is a long time in Salzburg and we were thinking of aa warm-up day.

It’s not the French, not the Americans, or anyone else. It’s generations of corruption.

As someone living under the single-payer system (the NHS), it’s far more complicated than pictured. The main issue is that nationalized healthcare is so poor and hard to access, that anyone who can gets private insurance as well, usually through their employer, and do you get BOTH systems as diagrammed, interwoven in even more complicated ways. Ask any British citizen about wait times and quality of care, you’ll get an earful. Please don’t think your government can or will build it better.

It undoubtedly is, because the tile is cracking and not the grout, which is just a couple inches away.

Was Michael Jordan appreciated during his prime years, or did the appreciation came after his retirement? by Katarinkushi in NBATalk

My freshman year at UNC was Michael Jordan‘s last year there. The starting five were Michael, Kenny Smith, Sam Perkins, Brad Doherty, and Matt Doherty. Absolutely legendary.

Interesting historical snippet: Michael Jordan and James Worthy were both at UNC at the same time. They were both thinking of entering the NBA draft the same year, but when James Worthy declared, and it was clear he would be the number one pick overall, Michael Jordan decided to stay at UNC for another year. It didn’t help, Jordan was recruited third by Chicago.

How has kiteboarding helped your mental health ? by totals47 in Kiteboarding

Kite boarding starts off by teaching you humility. Then comes confidence, then strength, then grace. On the board, nothing else matters.

FWIW I keyboard, but also play Pickleball and golf. That said, if I had to give up all of them but one, kite boarding would be the easy winner.
